The mayor of New York City,officially Mayor of the City of New York,is head of the executive branch of the government of New York City and the chief executive of New York City. The mayor's office administers all city services,public property,police and fire protection,most public agencies,and enforces all city and state laws within New York City.

Eric Leroy Adams is an American politician and former police officer who has served as the 110th mayor of New York City since January 1,2022. He served in the New York State Senate from 2006 to 2013,representing the 20th district in Brooklyn. In 2013,Adams was elected Brooklyn Borough President,the first African-American to hold the position,and reelected in 2017.
The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is structured into numerous bureaus and units. As a whole,the NYPD is headed by the Police Commissioner,a civilian administrator appointed by the Mayor,with the senior sworn uniformed officer of the service titled "Chief of Department". The Police Commissioner appoints the First Deputy Commissioner as the department's second-in-command and the Chief of Department as the department's highest ranking uniformed officer. The commissioner also appoints a number of deputy and assistant commissioners who do not have operational command and are solely for support and administrative function. The department is divided into twenty bureaus,six of which are enforcement bureaus. Each enforcement bureau is further subdivided into sections,divisions,and units,and into patrol boroughs,precincts,and detective squads. Each bureau is commanded by a bureau chief. There are also a number of specialized units that are not part of any of the bureaus and report to the Chief of the Department.
Dennis M. Walcott is the former Chancellor of the New York City Department of Education. He succeeded Cathie Black,who resigned in April 2011 after only three months on the job. He was succeeded as chancellor by Carmen Fariña. He is the president and chief executive officer of Queens Public Library.

Philip Banks III is the former Deputy Mayor of New York City for Public Safety and a retired law enforcement officer who served as NYPD chief of department in 2013 and 2014. As chief of department,Banks oversaw all patrol and specialty units.
Louis A. Molina is an American police officer and 7th Commissioner of the New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services. Commissioner Molina formerly served as Assistant Deputy Mayor for Public Safety for the City of New York,and the 37th Commissioner of the New York City Department of Correction. He was formerly the Chief of the Department of Public Safety for the City of Las Vegas and detective with the New York Police Department.
Jacques Jiha is the Director of the New York City Mayor's Office of Management and Budget. In this role,he oversees New York City’s fiscal policy,including the development of the Expense and Capital Budgets,the City’s bond and borrowing program,and the budgets of more than 90 City agencies and related entities. Previously,he served as Commissioner of the New York City Department of Finance,a position he has held in the administration of Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Goldie D. Brangman-Dumpson was an American nurse and educator. Brangman-Dumpson was a co-founder of the school of anesthesia at Harlem Hospital,where she worked most of her career. Later,she was the director of the Harlem Hospital School of Nursing. While working at Harlem Hospital,she was part of the surgical team that worked on Martin Luther King Jr. after an attempted assassination on September 20,1958. Brangman-Dumpson was a lifelong volunteer for the Red Cross and the first African-American president of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).
Sheena Wright is an American nonprofit executive and civil servant. She was the First Deputy Mayor of New York City and formerly the president of the United Way of New York City. In August 2021,she was chosen as the chair of New York City mayor-elect Eric Adams's transition team. Wright was named deputy mayor for Strategic Initiatives by Adams on December 6,2022 and began in January 2023.
David C. Banks is an American attorney and educator who is currently serving as the 31st New York City Schools chancellor in the administration of Mayor Eric Adams.
Keechant L. Sewell is an American baseball executive and former police officer and administrator. Sewell is currently the New York Mets Senior Vice President of Security and Guest Experience. She previously served as the 45th New York City Police Commissioner,the first woman and third black person to serve in the position. On June 12,2023,Sewell announced that she was stepping down as commissioner. No reason was given for her departure.

Previously the vice president for U.S. programs at the Ford Foundation,Torres-Springer was Deputy Mayor for Housing,Economic Development and Workforce,Commissioner of the New York City Department of Small Business Services and its Department of Housing Preservation and Development. She was also the president and CEO of the New York City Economic Development Corporation.

Tania Kinsella is an American police officer and First Deputy Commissioner of the New York City Police Department appointed in July 2023 by Mayor Eric Adams. Kinsella previously served as executive officer of the Office of the Chief of Patrol,where she was promoted to deputy chief.
There have been several investigations into the Eric Adams administration since he became Mayor of New York City in 2022.
