The National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) is the United States federal government's official list of districts, sites, buildings, structures and objects deemed worthy of preservation for their historical significance. A property listed in the National Register, or located within a National Register Historic District, may qualify for tax incentives derived from the total value of expenses incurred in preserving the property.
This is intended to be a complete list of properties and districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Orleans County, New York. The locations of National Register properties and districts may be seen in a map by clicking on "Map of all coordinates". Two listings, the New York State Barge Canal and the Cobblestone Historic District, are further designated a National Historic Landmark.
Yellow Bluff Fort Historic State Park is a Florida State Park in Jacksonville, Florida. It is located near the mouth of the St. Johns River, a mile south of State Road 105 on New Berlin Road, in the cities Northside area. On September 29, 1970, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
Historic Meridian Park Neighborhood is situated north of downtown Indianapolis, and located within the larger Mapleton Fall Creek Neighborhood. While the neighborhood is fairly small, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
The Virginia Landmarks Register (VLR) is a list of historic properties in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The state's official list of important historic sites, it was created in 1966. The Register serves the same purpose as the National Register of Historic Places. The nomination form for any Virginia site listed on the VLR is sent forward to the National Park Service for consideration for listing on the National Register.
The Keeper of the Register is a National Park Service (NPS) official, responsible for deciding on the eligibility of historic properties for inclusion on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The Keeper's authority may be delegated as they see fit. The State Historic Preservation Officer for each state submits nominations to the Keeper. Upon receipt, the Keeper has 45 days to decide whether to add the property to the NRHP.
Lorenzo State Historic Site is a mansion built by Colonel John Lincklaen, founder of the village of Cazenovia, New York. Colonel Linklaen was the agent of the Holland Land Company upon whose recommendation the Company purchased the 135,000-acre (55,000 ha) tract of land where the village grew. The painted brick mansion, begun in 1807 and completed in 1809, overlooks Cazenovia Lake. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in July 1970. Located on the grounds is the separately listed Rippleton Schoolhouse.
Forest Hills Historic District is a national historic district located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It encompasses 173 contributing buildings and 7 contributing structures in a planned residential section of Indianapolis. It developed between about 1911 and 1935, and includes representative examples of Tudor Revival and English Cottage style architecture.
The Mosher House, is a Frank Lloyd Wright designed Prairie School home that was constructed in Wellington, Ohio in 1902.
Dogtooth Bend Mounds and Village Site is an archaeological site located on the western shore of Lake Milligan in Alexander County, Illinois. The site includes two mounds and a village site stretching northwest of the mounds. The village was inhabited by Middle Mississippian peoples from roughly 900-1600 A.D. It likely served as a trade hub and a social center for residents of the surrounding farmland. Formal archaeological investigation of the site was initiated in 1950 by Irvin Peithman of Southern Illinois University.
The Lunsford-Pulcher Archeological Site is a prehistoric archaeological site in rural Monroe and St. Clair counties in Illinois. The site was the location of a Middle Mississippian village which was probably a satellite community of Cahokia. Several pyramidal burial mounds are included in the site. Archaeological excavations at the site have also discovered the remains of houses and garden beds, making the site one of the few Mississippian villages at which garden beds have been found. The site has been known to European settlers since early settlement of the area in the late 18th century; despite being used for farmland, the site remains in good condition.
Pleasant Valley is an unincorporated community located within Hopewell Township in Mercer County, New Jersey.
The Talagi Pictograph Cave is a rock art site on the island of Guam. It is located on property owned by the government of Guam within the bounds of Andersen Air Force Base on the northern part of the island near Tarague Beach. The cave contains thirteen pictographs representing human figures, and a places where limestone mortar was used that is of prehistoric origin. Based on the characteristics of the figures, it is believed that they were probably the work of a single individual. It is one of a small number known rock art sites on the island.
Gadao's Cave is a rock art site on the United States island of Guam. Located near the village of Inarajan, the cave is the site of a panel of approximately 50 pictographs, painted with a mixture of coral lime and tree sap. The most unusual images are of two human stick figures that appear to be carrying things. It is not known who painted them or when, and what their significance is.
The Harriett was a historic apartment building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built about 1905, and was a three-story, "U"-shaped, Classical Revival style yellow brick and grey limestone building. It has been demolished.
Delaware Court is a historic apartment building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1917, and is a two-story, "E"-shaped, Tudor Revival style red brick and grey limestone building on a raised basement. It features a flattened Tudor arched entrance, stepped gables and limestone plaques with heraldic escutcheons.
Delaware Flats is a historic apartment building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1887, and is a three-story, ten bay wide, Classical Revival style painted brick and limestone building. The first floor has commercial storefronts with cast iron framing. The upper stories feature two-story blank arches with Corinthian order pilasters.
Charles Kuhn House is a historic home located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built about 1879, and is a two-story, five bay, Italianate style brick dwelling. It has a hipped roof with pressed metal brackets and a centered gable.
YWCA Blue Triangle Residence Hall is a historic YWCA residence hall located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was designed by the architecture firm Rubush & Hunter and built in 1924. It is a five-story, "L"-plan, Classical Revival style steel frame building clad in red brick. It has a raised brick faced foundation and central entrance with a carved limestone surround.
Ransom Place Historic District is a national historic district located at Indianapolis, Indiana. The district encompasses 74 contributing buildings in a historically African-American residential section of Indianapolis. It was developed between about 1890 and 1942, and include representative examples of Queen Anne style architecture. Notable buildings include the Light of the World Christian Church (1910).
