Springfield is a historic neighborhood of Jacksonville, Florida, United States, located to the north of downtown. Established in 1869, it experienced its greatest growth from the early 1880s through the 1920s. The Springfield Historic District is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and contains some of the city's best examples of 19th and early 20th century architecture.
The Bateman Hotel, previously known as Howell Hotel or Kellogg Hotel, located in Lowville, New York, is now a conglomerate of condos. At one time, it was a hotel with a kitchen, a dining room, and a saloon. The hotel is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
The Main Street Historic District in New Hamburg, New York, United States is located along that street just west of the train station. Six buildings on a single acre are an intact remnant of the hamlet as it was developed in the middle of the 19th century, prior to the Hudson River Railroad's construction, which cut it in half.
The Warsaw Courthouse Square Historic District is a historic district in Warsaw, Indiana that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. Its boundaries were increased in 1993.
The Pratt Street Historic District of Hartford, Connecticut, encompasses all of Pratt Street, between Main and Trumbull Streets, in the city's downtown. This block, which includes 15 buildings, is the only place in the city where its typical early 20th-century streetscape is retained. All of the buildings in the district were built between 1830 and 1928, a significant number of them designed by major local architects. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
The Greenwich Avenue Historic District is a historic district representing the commercial and civic historical development of the downtown area of the town of Greenwich, Connecticut. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 31, 1989. Included in the district is the Greenwich Municipal Center Historic District, which was listed on the National Register the year before for the classical revival style municipal buildings in the core of Downtown. Most of the commercial buildings in the district fall into three broad styles, reflecting the period in which they were built: Italianate, Georgian Revival, and Commercial style. The district is linear and runs north–south along the entire length of Greenwich Avenue, the main thoroughfare of Downtown Greenwich, between U.S. Route 1 and the New Haven Line railroad tracks.
The Linneman Building was a historic commercial building in Lima, Ohio, United States. Located along South Main Street in the city's downtown, it was built in a transitional style of architecture in 1899. A two-story structure, it was constructed of brick arranged in an artistic style. Among its leading architectural features was a pair of large semicircular windows in the center of the building's facade; each window was decorated with a sash of aluminum, and the building was crowned with detailed stone carvings done in the style of the works of Louis Sullivan. In 1982, the building's stonework was rated as being equal to that of the adjacent Dorsey Building and superior to that of all other buildings in the city.
The Martin and Kibby Blocks are a pair of historic buildings in downtown Lima, Ohio, United States. Erected in 1884, they are brick structures built in the Victorian Gothic style of architecture. Both buildings are rectangular structures, three-stories tall, and topped with sloped roofs of asphalt. Among the decorative elements present on these buildings are brick pilasters next to the main entrances, stone lintels around the windows, and decorative corbelling between the structural brackets.
The George S. Abbott Building, also known as Wheeler and Wilson Building and Abbott Towers Apartments, is a historic mixed-use residential and commercial building at 245-247 North Main Street in Waterbury, Connecticut. Built in 1899, it is locally unusual for its all-masonry construction, and its unique adaptation to a triangular lot. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
St. Andrew's Episcopal Church is located at North Main and Madison avenues in Albany, New York, United States. It is a complex of three buildings, centered on the church itself, a stone structure designed by architect Norman Sturgis in the Late Gothic Revival architectural style and built in 1930. In 2005 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Ficke Block is a historic building located in downtown Davenport, Iowa, United States. It was individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. In 2020 it was included as a contributing property in the Davenport Downtown Commercial Historic District.
The Shelden-Dee Block is a commercial building located on the corner of Shelden Avenue and Isle Royale Street in Houghton, Michigan. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
Richard Karl August Kletting was an influential architect in Utah. He designed many well-known buildings, including the Utah State Capitol, the Enos Wall Mansion, the original Salt Palace, and the original Saltair Resort Pavilion. His design for the Utah State Capitol was chosen over 40 competing designs. A number of his buildings survive and are listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places including many in University of Utah Circle and in the Salt Lake City Warehouse District.
The Kaleva Temple is a commercial building located on Trimountain Avenue in South Range, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
The Grinnell Historic Commercial District is a nationally recognized historic district located in Grinnell, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. At the time of its nomination it contained 75 resources, which included 47 contributing buildings, and 26 non-contributing buildings. The historic district is the core of the city's central business district. Fires struck the area in 1889 and twice in 1891. They destroyed the frame buildings, and were replaced with brick and stone structures, although Block 7 developed more slowly. Most of the buildings are two stories in height, six buildings are single-story structures, and two are three stories. The economic development of the city was also assisted by the presence of Grinnell College and the presence of two railroads.
The Chandler Store is a historic formerly commercial building on Maine State Route 27 in the center of the Belgrade Lakes village of Belgrade, Maine. Built in 1838, it is one of only two known commercial buildings in the state to be built out of granite blocks. It is now a private residence. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
The Building at 306 South Second Street is a historic industrial building located in Bellevue, Iowa, United States. It is one of over 217 limestone structures in Jackson County from the mid-19th century, of which 20 are commercial/industrial buildings. The two-story structure was built in 1859 as an industrial facility. It is believed it was initially used as a pork processing plant that produced salt pork, which was then shipped down the Mississippi River. Subsequently, it has housed Haney & Campbell Creamery and Dairy Supplies, a saloon, a pool hall, and by 1928, a residence. The stone blocks that were used in the construction of this square structure vary somewhat in shape and size, and they were laid in courses. The window sills, lintels and watertable are dressed stone. Its two main elevations on Second and Chestnut streets are symmetrical, with three bays. Both have a door in the central bay. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
The Sturgis and Haskell Building is a historic commercial building at 180-182 Water Street in downtown Augusta, Maine. Built in 1867, it is one of a series of four Italianate commercial buildings built in the wake of a devastating 1865 fire. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
The South Hero Inn is a historic commercial building at 301 United States Route 2 in the center of South Hero, Vermont. Built in 1829, it is a prominent local example of a stone building with Federal and Greek Revival features, and served as a traveler accommodation until the early 1970s. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. It now houses a bank.
7 West 54th Street is a commercial building in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of New York City. It is along 54th Street's northern sidewalk between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue. The four-story building was designed by John H. Duncan in the French Beaux-Arts style and was constructed between 1899 and 1900 as a private residence. It is one of five consecutive townhouses erected along the same city block during the 1890s, the others being 5, 11, and 13 and 15 West 54th Street.
