Tanjung Aru is a sub-district of Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, of Malaysia. Its main feature is its beach called Tanjung Aru Beach which stretches to over 2 kilometres long along with new skyscrapers. [1] This beach has a lot of Casuarina equisetifolia trees (aru) there naming this town. [2]

It also has its own township called Tanjung Aru Town. Other notable features include the Perdana Park, the Kinabalu Golf Club, the Kinabalu Yacht Club, and the Tanjung Aru railway station of Sabah State Railway. [3]

The Amazing Race 4 is the fourth season of the American reality competition show The Amazing Race. Hosted by Phil Keoghan, it featured twelve teams of two, each with a pre-existing relationship, competing in a race around the world in order to win US$1,000,000. This season visited four continents and nine countries and traveled over 44,000 miles (71,000 km). Starting in Los Angeles, racers traveled through Italy, Austria, France, the Netherlands, India, Malaysia, South Korea, Australia, and Hawaii before finishing in Phoenix. The season premiered on CBS on May 29, 2003, and concluded on August 21, 2003.

Kudat is the capital of the Kudat District in the Kudat Division of Sabah, Malaysia. Its population was estimated to be around 29,025 in 2010. It is located on the Kudat Peninsula, about 190 kilometres (120 mi) north of Kota Kinabalu, the state capital, and is near the northernmost point of Borneo. It is the largest town in the heartland of the Rungus people which is a sub-ethnic group of the majority Kadazan-Dusun race and is therefore a major centre of Rungus culture. It is also notable for being one of the first parts of Sabah to be settled by Chinese Malaysians, particularly from the Hakka dialect group. It is the Northernmost Malaysian city.

Changi Village is a modern village situated at the northern tip of Changi which is at the eastern end of Singapore. It is the usual connecting point for travellers heading to Pulau Ubin or Malaysia by ferry. Fishermen in the kelongs located in the Serangoon Harbour offshore also use this jetty as a drop off point to come onto mainland. Changi Village also has many resorts and leisure facilities to cater for a weekend getaway for many Singaporeans. The area is classified by Urban Redevelopment Authorities as under the planning area of Changi and in the subzone of Changi Point. It is also classified under District 17 for property indexing.

The Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park comprises a group of 5 islands located between Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia. The park is spread over 4,929 hectares, two-thirds of which cover the sea. Before the Ice age, it formed part of the Crocker Range mass of sandstone and sedimentary rock on the mainland. However, about one million years ago, the melting ice brought about changes in the sea level and parts of the mainland were cut off by the sea to form the islands of Gaya, Sapi, Manukan, Mamutik and Sulug. Evidence of this can be seen from the exposed sandstone of the coastline forming the cliffs, caves, honeycombs and deep crevices. The park was named after Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia's first Prime Minister.

Sabah State Railway (SSR) is a railway system and operator in the state of Sabah in Malaysia. It is the only rail transport system operating on the island of Borneo. It was formerly known as North Borneo Railway.

Gaya Island is a sizeable Malaysian island of 1,465 ha, just 10 minutes off Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and forms part of the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park. Gaya Island derived its name from the Bajau word "Gayo" which means big and occupies an area of 15 km2 with an elevation of up to 300 metres. Several ridges rise more than 600 feet, peaking at 1,000 feet, along the backbone of Gaya Island.

BandWidth Street Press Magazine is a free monthly tabloid-sized music and lifestyle magazine established in March 2009 and based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. It is distributed throughout Kota Kinabalu and surrounding districts. In August 2011, the magazine expanded its territory to the Federal Territory of Labuan. The magazine is released between the 3rd to the 5th day of each month. The magazine was founded in Kota Kinabalu in March 2009 by Arthur E. Lee. Arthur E. Lee said at the time that "This magazine is a great opportunity and has a great potential to build a strong music media outlet that is supportive of the local music scene completely from the grass roots level."

The Mengalum Island boat accident is occurred on 28 January 2017, when a catamaran passenger ferry sank in the South China Sea off Mengalum Island in Sabah, Malaysia. The boat was carrying 27 Chinese tourists, of whom 22 were rescued, four confirmed dead, and five still missing.

The Tanjung Aru Eco Development is a mixed development project at Tanjung Aru in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, with the addition of resort hotels, residential areas, marinas, entertainment venues, beach clubs and dining areas. The redevelopment areas cover some 340 hectares, which will double the Tanjung Aru park's size to about 30 hectares. Part of the area would be transformed into a rainforest, intended to rejuvenate the Prince Philip Park located nearby. The refurbishment of the park would include a promenade, walking and cycling tracks and an ecology centre, along with the construction of a 133 hectares Greg Norman-designed golf course, seven hotels with 1,800 rooms and 5,000 apartment and condominium units. The project however has been met with criticisms from local conservation groups.

The Amazing Race Australia 7, also known as The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition, is the seventh season of The Amazing Race Australia, an Australian reality competition show based on the American series The Amazing Race and the fourth instalment of Network 10's iteration of the show. Hosted by Beau Ryan, it featured eleven teams of two, each with a pre-existing relationship and including at least one celebrity contestant, in a race around Asia to win the grand prize of A$100,000 for the winners' chosen charity. This season visited one continent and three countries and travelled over 10,000 kilometres (6,200 mi) during twelve legs. Starting in Delhi, racers travelled through India, Malaysia and Cambodia before finishing in Kuala Lumpur. The season premiered on 4 October 2023 with the finale airing on 9 November 2023.
