Associação Desportiva Social & Cultural Tchadense (Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC or ALUPEK as well as Badiu: Txadensi) is a football club that plays in the Premier Division of the Santiago Island South Cape Verde. It is based in the neighborhood of Achada de Santo António in the southern part of the capital city of Praia and the name of the club is of the common form of Badiu in the island of Santiago. Its current chairman is Jacinto Santos [1]

The Alfabeto Unificado para a Escrita do Caboverdiano, commonly known as ALUPEC, is the alphabet that was officially recognized by the Cape Verdean government to write Cape Verdean Creole.

Association football team field sport

Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played with a spherical ball between two teams of eleven players. It is played by 250 million players in over 200 countries and dependencies, making it the world's most popular sport. The game is played on a rectangular field called a pitch with a goal at each end. The object of the game is to score by moving the ball beyond the goal line into the opposing goal.

The Santiago South Premier Division is a regional championship played in Santiago Island, Cape Verde and is a part of the Santiago South Zone Football Association. The winner of the championship plays in Cape Verdean football Championships of each season while the last two placed clubs relegates in the following season. In 2007 and 2013 when Sporting Praia automatically qualified in the championships as they won their national titles in the previous season, a second place club qualified to the national championships. The division features 12 clubs in the premier division for the second time, Varanda and Delta were relegated into the Second Division, Tchadense and Benfica were promoted last season.

Its logo is a seal with two blue rims with the club name on top and the name of the club on the bottom, it has a red boat with a small blue stripe on top followed by a larger white stripe and two hands carrying a seashell.

Uniform

Its uniform colors are white and dark blue.

History

The club was founded in 1984 and were founded by several young people. On October 17, 1995, the club was officially registered in the local football (soccer) it was published in a press later on October 30. The club first appeared in the second division in 1996 and elevated in 1997. In 1998, it was relegated into the Second Division, an increase number of matches led to a partial deterioration of the grass and the competition were cancelled in 1999, for Tchadense, they did not compete again until 2005.

The full name of the club was changed to Associação Desportiva & Cultural Tchadense on October 12, 2008.

In 2009, the club celebrated its 25th anniversary of Tchadense's foundation.

In the 2013-14 Tchadense was relegated to the Regional Second Division for the next few seasons, later in 2014, as a finalist in the Southern Santiago Cup, the club was to face Sporting Clube da Praia (champion, also a cup winner) on November for the regional super cup, the competition was postponed.

Sporting Clube da Praia

Sporting Clube da Praia, short form: Sporting Praia is a professional football club that plays in the Santiago South Premier Division in Cape Verde. It is based in the capital city of Praia in the island of Santiago, one of the unrelegated clubs in the south of the island along with three of the city's four historically mightiest clubs including Académica, Boavista and CD Travadores. Along with Académcia, Boavista, Desportivo, Travadores and Vitória, it is one of several teams that share the same ground, Estádio da Várzea, which has a capacity of 8,000. Sporting has won six championships since independence and a few before independence. The first title was won in the summer of 1962 before independence. Sporting recently won the 2017 national title. Its current president is Carlos Daniel Caetano and its manager is Lito, who once played for Portuguese clubs as footballer.

The president for the 2015 season was Jacinto Santos [1] Tchadense finished very last. The club was second place in the regional second division for the shortened 2015/16 season behind Benfica Praia and qualified into the Premier Division as no promotional matches were played due to the addition of two new clubs for the Second Division in the following season.

During the 2016-17 season, Carlos Morais, better known as Caló became president of Tchadense, the president is a former player of several clubs including the city's clubs of Académica and Sporting, three Portuguese clubs and one of the first Cape Verdeans to play with the Qatar Stars League. In only a season, Tchadense was again in the regional Premier Division for the 2016/17 season, the club' first match on November 6 ended in a scoreless draw with Benfica, a club that also promoted with Tchadense last season. The fourth week match on December 3 defeated CD Travadores 2-3, one of the top five clubs of the city, as Desportivo Praia scored no goals in the week, for the first time in some seasons, Tchadense went the number one spot and continues for three weeks, after losing to Desportivo, the club was third, their positions dropped to sixth at the 9th round and would be for the remainder of the season with some expections, Tchadense was 5th from rounds 14-16, 7th at the 19th round and 5th at the 21st round after their last win of the season over Eugénio Lima (a club who merged with Lapaloma), Tchadense had 27 points, 7 wins and draws and scored 25 goals. A high unreached in a couple of seasons. In early April, with enough points, Tchadense will spend their second consecutive season in the Premier Division.

Tchadense started off the 2017-18 season with an 0-3 win over Desportivo and was third place. Tchadense again defeated Praia's one of historically top five clubs. the four that remain and was another win over Travadores with the score 4-1. At round 7, Tchadense had 10 points, shared with Desportivo, Tchadense scored 8 goals and that club scored only five. Tchadense currently has fourth straight losses, their first, third and fourth were to the city's mighty clubs of Sporting, Académica and Boavista. Tchadense was 7th up to the 12th round when that position was taken by Travadores and is now 8th. Their point totals are now shared with AD Ribeira Grande based west of the city and Benfica Praia. Another win over Desportivo was made on January 21 and luckily got back their 7th position and got a chance to make another successful season as they did last season. Tchadense shares its 13 points with Ribeira Grande.

Tchadense has its home field in Achada de Santo António, the field is small measuring about 70x48 meters. Due to its perfect field size, Tchadense's matches are played at Estádio da Várzea, a multi-use stadium in Praia, Cape Verde. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 8,000. The stadium has seat rows in the left and right sides and a small hill and a plateau lies to the west. The stadium is home to the three best football clubs in Cape Verde and the island's six best, Sporting, CD Travadores, Boavista FC, Académica, Desportivo and Vitória, all in the Santiago South Championships.
