Vitòria celebrated its 50th anniversary of the club's foundation in 1981. Vitória later celebrated its 75th anniversary of the club's foundation in 2006.

After the start of the new century, the club finished at a position that was nearly or at moderate. The late 2000s was the last time the club finished fifth and their last time they got a high position was sixth in 2011. In 2011, their last major regional success was at the regional cup where they headed up to the finals and faced Boavista, the club lost the title, as Boavista were also regional champions, they qualified into the regional super cup. Several months later, the super cup competition was not held and Vitória was no participant at the competition.

First and second downfalls

In recent years, the club was not as powerful as it was in its early years. In 2012, the club was relegated and participated in the Second Division for a season and finished first. Vitória became the only club of the original four of Praia to relegate. The club returned again into the Premier Division and finished 5th in the 2013/14 regional season and finished with 19 points, 6 wins, eleven draws and scored 12 goals. The following season, the club finished last place and was not relegated as two additional clubs were added for the 2015/16 season, Vitória finished with 14 points, 3 wins, half than last season, 5 draws and 10 losses, one less, the club scored 10 goals. The club finished ninth in the extended 2015/16 season and finished with 19 points, 5 wins, 13 losses and scored 30 goals, except for the losses part, better than last season. Vitória suffered losses in the early and the mid part of the 2016-17 season, the club made their first draw with Sporting Praia in the 3rd round and currently has four draws, the club made a win late in the season on March 26 and defeated Os Garridos 3-4 and became their season's highest match, they prevented themselves from keeping themselves in the relegation zone for a week, until the club lost to the top three Travadores and the club kept inside the relegation zone for the remainder of the season. Their final wins at the Premier Division were made in April, first over ADESBA, then Celtic. The club lost their last match to Desportivo and finished last place with 13 wins and three wins, the club scored 16 goals, second least ahead of Eugénio Lima's, they conceded 44 goals, third last to Garridos' and Travadores, in the later part of the season, the goal concessions was second. Vitória's second downfall of the club was complete and later participated in the Second Division in the following season.

In the Second Division

Vitória, the only historically known club in the Second Division competed in a match with Kumunidadi, a 0-2 loss made and failed their planned immediate return to the Premier Division. Vitória made their season's first win on December 3 with a 2-1 win over Calabaceira Fiorentina. Vitória suffered another loss to a club who also relegated last season Os Garridos with the score 3-2. Vitória then had a goal draw with Vila Nova before suffering a two match losing streak. The club had a bye on January 7, originally the club was to play with Tira Chapéu, after Varanda's withdrawal, it was to be with Varanda. Their next match was a 3-2 win over Unidos do Norte made on January 27, though prevented the club from attempting for qualification into the Premier Division. Vitǒria was 8th place, one above last placed Calabaceira Fiorentina and was kept being a Second Division club. That time, Vitória had two wins and three draws. Another win was followed on February 3 which was over Calabaceira, then a loss to Os Garridos was next and a scoreless draw with Vila Nova. A second straight draw was next with three goals made with Asa Grande at the 15th round. Also during the match, Vitória lost their chance of returning to the Premier Division next season, together with Garridos, another season they will spend at the Second Division next season. Vitória faced Delta next and lost the match 1-2. The 17th round was a bye week for the club, the season's last match was their second against Relâmpago, it ended in a 1-2 loss and the club finished 8th, second to last, a very low position they never finished before.

Other competitions

In the 2016-17 regional cup, Vitória came up in the last days of 2016 and played against Travadores, as the match ended in goal draw, it went into the penalty shootouts and defeated that club 4-3. They advanced to the quarterfinals and challenged Celtic, it ended in a goal draw and later lost 4-3 in the penalty shooutouts and their participation was done.
