The Collection is a compilation box set by American recording artist Michael Jackson. It was released on June 29, 2009 by Epic Records. The album was released four days after his death, though its release was already scheduled before Jackson's passing. With the exception of HIStory , it contains all of Jackson's Epic studio albums. It has peaked at number one in several countries.

Contents

This set was originally available, albeit in different packaging, in 2001 as a very rare UK promo set to celebrate the release of Invincible at 34 Westferry Circus in Canary Wharf, London. This compilation also marks the beginning of Jackson's posthumous legacy. The artwork scheme is similar to the King of Pop UK edition album.

In most markets, the album contains 18 songs: 16 of their most successful and popular singles, and two new songs. The Promise is the fifth studio album by the classical crossover group, Il Divo. The Promise was released globally on 10 November 2008, except in the US and Canada, where it was released 17 November, Ireland and Mexico where it was released on 7 November, and Japan, on 26 November. The album reached the No.1 spot in the UK on 16 November. The album was produced by Steve Mac. It was announced on 10 September, that it will be named The Promise, although the track listing was at this time not yet disclosed. It also revealed that the album would have twelve songs. Cover songs confirmed at this time were: Frankie Goes To Hollywood's "The Power of Love"; 'a haunting and beautiful interpretation of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah"'; the smouldering intensity of Lara Fabian's "Adagio"; and the fourth confirmed song then was ABBA's "The Winner Takes It All".

The 50-track album features all of the hits through the Motown years from both the Jackson 5 and Michael's solo material, all of them released during their tenure with Motown (1969–1975), with the exception of "Farewell My Summer Love" and "Girl You're So Together", which were released in 1984, long after Jackson and the group had left the company.

<i>The Singles</i> (Phil Collins album) 2016 compilation album by Phil Collins

The Singles is a compilation album by English drummer Phil Collins. It was released on 14 October 2016 through Atlantic Records and Warner Music. The album is Collins' fourth compilation album—after ...Hits (1998), The Platinum Collection (2004) and Love Songs: A Compilation... Old and New (2004)—and came at the end of his Take a Look at Me Now series, which saw him remaster and reissue his entire back catalogue dating back to 1981's Face Value. The compilation is made up of most of the hit singles from Collins' solo career, as well as lesser-known singles. The album was released in two versions, a standard 2-CD edition and a deluxe 3-CD edition. A vinyl edition was also released, first available as a 4-LP set with the same track list as in standard 2-CD edition, but it was, in 2018, replaced with a 2-LP set, which have only 19 selected tracks from previous version.
