The Press is a local, daily, paid for, newspaper, for North and East Yorkshire. [6] It is published in the City of York by Newsquest Media Group Ltd, a subsidiary of Gannett Company Inc. [2]
The Yorkshire Evening Press was established in 1882. [3] It changed from broadsheet to compact format in 2004 [1] and shortly afterwards dropped "Yorkshire" from the title. Morning printing began on 24 April 2006, and the paper was given its present name.[ citation needed ]
William Wallace Hargrove printed at 9 Coney Street. Paper was delivered by barge along the River Ouse. In 1989, publication moved to Walmgate. [3]

La Stampa has "historically" been Turin's newspaper of record. It was launched on 31 May 2012 as a relaunch of the former daily newspaper, the Scarborough Evening News, and incorporates information from the former Saturday edition of the Filey & Hunmanby Mercury. It is a 'bumper' edition, as news for seven days that was spread over six days now has to be condensed into a weekly issue.
The Guardian is a British daily newspaper. It was founded in Manchester in 1821 as The Manchester Guardian, and changed its name in 1959, followed by a move to London. Along with its sister papers, The Observer and The Guardian Weekly, The Guardian is part of the Guardian Media Group, owned by the Scott Trust Limited. The trust was created in 1936 to "secure the financial and editorial independence of The Guardian in perpetuity and to safeguard the journalistic freedom and liberal values of The Guardian free from commercial or political interference". The trust was converted into a limited company in 2008, with a constitution written so as to maintain for The Guardian the same protections as were built into the structure of the Scott Trust by its creators. Profits are reinvested in its journalism rather than distributed to owners or shareholders. It is considered a newspaper of record in the UK.
The Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph is the local newspaper for north and east Northamptonshire and is the sister paper of Northampton's Chronicle & Echo.
