The Virginia Landmarks Register (VLR) is a list of historic properties in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The state's official list of important historic sites, it was created in 1965, by the General Assembly in the Code of Virginia. The Register serves the same purpose as the National Register of Historic Places. The nomination form for any Virginia site listed on the VLR is sent forward to the National Park Service for consideration for listing on the National Register.
Onancock Historic District is a national historic district located at Onancock, Accomack County, Virginia. The district encompasses 267 contributing buildings, 2 contributing sites, and 2 contributing objects. It includes most of the historic residential, commercial, and ecclesiastical buildings in the town of Onancock. The buildings represent a variety of popular architectural styles including the Late Victorian, Greek Revival, and Federal styles. Notable buildings include Scott Hall, Alicia Hopkins House (1830), Harmon House, Holly House (1860), Ingleside (1880s), Dr. Lewis Harmanson House (1899), Harbor Breeze (1912), First National Bank, Roseland Theatre, Market Street Methodist Church (1882), Naomi Makemie Presbyterian Church (1895), the Charles E. Cassell designed Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (1882), Onancock Town Hall, Onancock High School (1921), and Onancock Post Office (1936). Located in the district and separately listed are the Cokesbury Church, Hopkins and Brother Store and Ker Place.
Catlett Historic District is a national historic district located at Catlett, Fauquier County, Virginia. It encompasses 119 contributing buildings, 2 contributing sites, and 11 contributing structures in the rural village of Catlett. It contains a collection of buildings that represent the town during the late 19th and early-to-mid 20th centuries. Notable buildings include Prospect Acres, Edmonds Place, Trenis House, the Gothic Revival style Trinity Church (1872), the former Ensor's Store, Leidy Wilson's Store, and the Wilson Farms Meat Company.
Marshall Historic District is a national historic district located at Marshall, Fauquier County, Virginia. It encompasses 314 contributing buildings and 3 contributing sites in the rural village of Marshall. The district represents a collection of historic buildings with a wide range of building types and architectural styles that date from the end of the 18th century to the mid-20th century. Notable buildings include the Fauquier Heritage and Preservation Foundation building, hosteller's house for Rector's Ordinary, a store and Confederate post office, the Elgin House, former Marshall Pharmacy, the Foley Building, the Gothic Revival style Trinity Episcopal Church (1849), Salem Baptist Church (1929), Marshall United Methodist Church (1899), and the Marshall Ford Company (1916), reputed to be the oldest building built as a Ford dealership in the United States that is still functioning as such.
Paris Historic District is a national historic district located at Paris, Fauquier County, Virginia. It encompasses 53 contributing resources in the rural village of Paris. The district includes primarily residences, although the district also includes some commercial buildings, churches, a former school, and a cemetery. Fifty-two of the 53 contributing resources are already listed as part of the Crooked Run Valley Rural Historic District. Notable buildings include "Wagoner's Stand", the Josiah Murray House, the William Peck House, Old Paris Meeting House, the Willis-Carr House, the former Rogers Store, and Trinity United Methodist Church (1892).
The Boydton Historic District is a national historic district located at Boydton, Mecklenburg County, Virginia. It encompasses 199 contributing buildings, 6 contributing sites, 6 contributing structure, and 2 contributing objects in the central business district and surrounding residential areas of the town of Boydton. Notable buildings include the municipal building (1905), the old jail (1870), the Beales, Bedinger, and Gregory, Inc. car dealership building (1918), Washington Tavern, Williams and Goode Bank (1908), Boydton Department Store (1935), Mecklenburg County Building Department (1949), Southside Regional Library (1939), Presbyterian Meeting House (1819), Saint James Episcopal Church (1840-1841), Boydton Baptist Church, Trinity Episcopal Church (1890s), "Cedar Crest" (1825), and "On the Hill" (1920), which was separately listed in 2015. Also located in the district and separately listed are the Boyd's Tavern and Mecklenburg County Courthouse.
Trinity United Methodist Church is a historic Methodist church building located near Ellett, Montgomery County, Virginia. It was built between 1908 and 1910, and is a one-story, four-bay, nave plan brick structure. It has a two-stage corner tower, containing a vestibule at the northwest corner. The second stage of the tower takes the form of an open belfry with sawn brackets supporting a conical cap with finial. A Sunday school wing added in 1961.
Emmaus Baptist Church is a historic Southern Baptist church located near Providence Forge, New Kent County, Virginia. It was built between 1849 and 1852, and is a rectangular, simple nave- plan structure in the Greek Revival style. It measures 38 feet wide by 50 feet long. Also on the property is a contributing church cemetery that contains 195 tombstones with dates ranging from 1855 to 1989.
Cape Charles Historic District is a national historic district located at Cape Charles, Northampton County, Virginia. The Town was surveyed by the Virginia Department of Historic Resources in 1989, and a National Register Historic District was created and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Emmanuel Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church located at Powhatan, Powhatan County, Virginia. It was built between 1842 and 1850, and is a one-story, vernacular Gothic Revival brick church building painted white. It features a stepped gable parapet, a half-octagonal apse which served as a vestry, and four tall window bays interspaced with slim buttresses. It also contains a cemetery in the back yard and north side of the church.

Pulaski Historic Residential District is a national historic district located at Pulaski, Pulaski County, Virginia. It encompasses 278 contributing buildings in a primarily residential section of the town of Pulaski. The dwellings are primarily frame and brick residences dating from the 1880s through the 1940s. They include the large homes of the factory managers, and the more modest homes of workers. Notable non-residential buildings include the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, the First Baptist Church (125-6-280), the First Christian Church, the law office of Samuel N. Hurst, Masonic Lodge, and Pulaski Women's Club.
Wytheville Historic District is a national historic district located at Wytheville, Wythe County, Virginia. The district encompasses 245 contributing buildings in the historic core of the town of Wytheville. They are primarily residential and commercial buildings and structures dating from about the 1830s to early 1940s. Notable buildings include the Fleming K. Rich House (1830s), Edith Bolling Galt Wilson Birthplace, Ephraim McGavock House (1858), Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (1876), Wytheville AM&O station (1873), Wythe County Courthouse (1902), George Wythe Hotel (1927), Millwald Theatre (1928), Trinkle Mansion, and Wytheville Municipal Building (1929), The Haller-Gibboney Rock House and St. John's Episcopal Church are located in the district and listed separately.
The Ballentine Place Historic District is a national historic district located at Norfolk, Virginia. It encompasses 860 contributing buildings, 1 contributing site, and 1 contributing object in a cohesive residential neighborhood located near the center of Norfolk. It was platted in 1909, and largely developed between 1915 and 1953. The district includes a park developed in the 1930s by the Works Progress Administration (WPA). Notable non-residential buildings include the Ballentine School (1915-1916), Trinity Baptist Church (1953), United New Life Church of Christ in Holiness Church (1930), the Emmanuel Holy Temple Church, and the Tabernacle of the Congregation Church of God in Christ (1930).

Located in the district and separately listed are the Petersburg City Hall, Tabb Street Presbyterian Church, and Saint Paul's Church.
Trinity Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church located in Portsmouth, Virginia. It was built between 1828 and 1830, and is a stuccoed brick building. It has an attached bell tower. Also on the property is the contributing parish house, built in 1887. During the American Civil War, the church was used as a hospital.
Downtown Portsmouth Historic District, also known as the High Street Corridor Historic District, is a national historic district located at Portsmouth, Virginia. It encompasses 229 contributing buildings, 1 contributing site, 4 contributing structures, and 1 contributing object in the central business district of Portsmouth. The district encompasses the original 1752 plan of the Town of Portsmouth and includes portions of expansions of the original boundaries dating to 1763 and 1909. It includes a variety of commercial, government, and institutional buildings, with most dating to the years around the turn of the 20th century. Notable buildings include the Captain Baird House, Vermillion Manor (1840), City Hall Building (1878), former United States Post Office (1907-1908), First Presbyterian Church (1877), First United Methodist Churches (1882), St. James Episcopal Church, Ebenezer Baptist Church, YMCA building, Tidewater Building, Southern Aid Building, Colony Theater, Lyric Theater, Blumberg's Department Store, Mutual Drug Company (1946), the New Kirn Building, and the Professional Building. Separately listed are the Commodore Theatre, Portsmouth Courthouse, Pythian Castle, St. Paul's Catholic Church, and Trinity Episcopal Church
Trinity Methodist Church, also known as Trinity United Methodist Church and New Light Baptist Church, is a historic Methodist church located in Richmond, Virginia. It was built between 1859 and 1875, and is a three-story, Italianate style stuccoed brick structure. It features a three-stage central tower, with an octagonal third stage that rises above the ridge of the gable roof. The tower once had a fourth stage open octagonal belfry and spire, which was removed in 1955 after being damaged in Hurricane Hazel.
First Baptist Church was a historic African-American Baptist church located in the Gainsboro neighborhood of Roanoke, Virginia. It was built in 1898–1900, and was a large six-bay nave-plan brick church with Romanesque and Gothic detailing. It featured a clipped gable roof and a front bell tower. A one-story Parish Hall was built in 1936. First Baptist Church occupied the building until moving to a new sanctuary in 1982. The church was destroyed by fire in April 1995.
Newtown Historic District is a national historic district located at Staunton, Virginia. The district encompasses 414 contributing buildings and 2 contributing sites in a primarily residential section of Staunton. The district includes some late 18th- and early 19th-century structures, but most of the homes were built between 1870 and 1920 during Staunton's boom years. The buildings range from Jeffersonian Neo-Classical and Greek Revival to bungalows of the 1920s. Notable buildings include Stuart Hall's Cochran House (1858), Robertson House (1886), the Smith Thompson House, and the George M. Cochran House. The magnificent grounds of Thornrose Cemetery are also included in the district. Located in the district are the separately listed Stuart Hall School, Stuart House, and Trinity Episcopal Church.
