Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) is an American professional society of motion picture sound editors founded in 1953. The society's goals are to educate others about and increase the recognition of the sound editors, show the artistic merit of the soundtracks, and improve the professional relationship of its members. The society is not to be confused with an industry union, such as the I.A.T.S.E. The current president is Mark Lanza. The names of active members of the MPSE will generally appear in film credits with the post-nominal letters "MPSE".

Shabdo (Sound) is a 2012 Indian Bengali film directed by Kaushik Ganguly. The film revolves around the life of Tarak, a Foley artist from a Bengali film. Tarak's job is to create ambient sounds for films, but, he gradually gets trapped in his own world, a world full of sound. It won the 60th National Film Awards for Best Feature Film in Bengali and the Best Audiography. It went on to KFF 2011, IFFI 2012, Goa, Dubai Film Festival, Singapore Film festival 2012.
Donald Sylvester is an American sound editor who has worked on over 100 films. He is best known for his work with James Mangold on the films Ford v Ferrari (2019), Logan (2017), 3:10 to Yuma (2007), and Walk the Line (2005). Sylvester won the Academy Award for Best Sound Editing at the 92nd Academy Awards for Ford v Ferrari and BAFTA Award for Best Sound at the 59th British Academy Film Awards for Walk the Line. He has been a member of BAFTA since 2007.
