The W. A. Gruninger Building is a commercial building located in Kingman, Arizona.

Description

W. A. Gruninger Building is located at 424 Beale Street in Kingman, Arizona. The building was designed and built by Gruninger & Son in 1921 in an Early Commercial style. Gruninger & Son built it as an investment property. The first floor was a store front for rent. The second floor had office space. The Gruningers had their own office there. Today the building is still used for a store and office space for the downtown area of Kingman. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. [1]

The building was built with a Mission/Spanish Revival architectural style. J. B. Lammers of Flagstaff, Arizona was the contractor.

The U. S. Post Office is a historic building located in Kingman, Arizona. The post office was built in 1935. The design of the post office is Period Revival with Italian influence. Louis A. Simon was the Supervisor Architect and Neal A. Melick was the Supervisor Engineer. The first post office building for Kingman, the earlier post offices were located in stores. Today the post office is owned by the City of Kingman and is used for office space in the downtown area. It is across the street from the Little Red School and around the corner of the street of the old Elks Lodge.

In 2020 it was included as a contributing property in the Davenport Downtown Commercial Historic District. The former department store building was modeled on the Rookery Building in Chicago.

The Baker-Devotie-Hollingsworth Block is an historic building located in the East Village of Des Moines, Iowa, United States. The eastern two-thirds of the block was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 as the Studio Building. The western one-third was added to the National Register in 2008, and its name was changed at that time. In 2019 the entire building was included as a contributing property in the East Des Moines Commercial Historic District.

Kegler Gonner Store and Post Office United States historic place

The Kegler-Gonner Store and Post Office, also known simply as Gonner's Store, is a historic commercial building located in Springbrook, Iowa, United States. Christian Kegler had the western portion of this building constructed for his general store about 1874. The post office had relocated here two years previous with Kegler as the postmaster. Three additions were built on to the original structure. The building was in its final form by 1933. John Gonner acquired a part interest in the store in 1904, and operated it outright by 1908. It was still known as Gonner's Store at least into the mid-1980s. The space is now occupied by a restaurant. The second floor houses apartments. At one time the east half of the second floor had been a boarding house.
