The Wallingford Fire and Police Station, also known as the Wallingford Police Precinct Station, at 1629 N. 45th St. in Seattle, Washington was built in 1913. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. [1]
It was designed by architect Daniel Riggs Huntington. It is a two-story 62 by 85 feet (19 m × 26 m) wood-frame building with a partial basement. It was built in 1913, then modified in 1921 when horse-drawn equipment was retired, then remodelled again in 1965. [2]
The Hereford Inlet Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse located in North Wildwood, New Jersey, situated on the southern shore of Hereford Inlet at the north end of Five Mile Beach. Its construction was completed and it became operational in 1874.
The Fire Island Lighthouse is a visible landmark on the Great South Bay, in southern Suffolk County, New York on the western end of Fire Island, a barrier island off the southern coast of Long Island. The lighthouse is located within Fire Island National Seashore and just to the east of Robert Moses State Park. It is part of the Fire Island Light Station which contains the light, keepers quarters, the lens building containing the original first-order Fresnel lens, and a boat house.
Bound Brook is a New Jersey Transit railroad station on the Raritan Valley Line, in Bound Brook, New Jersey. The station building on the north side of the tracks is now a restaurant; the other station building on the south side is now privately owned. A pedestrian tunnel connects the south and north sides of the tracks.
Police Station Five was a historic police station in the West End neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. Constructed in the 1890s to serve both regular police and the city's patrol service, it was named a historic site in the late twentieth century, but historic designation was unable to save it from destruction.

The Kishenehn Ranger Station in Glacier National Park was originally built in 1913, but a fire burned it down in 1919. They rebuilt it in 1921. Located nearly five miles south of the Canada–United States border, the log cabin was one of the earliest administrative structures in the park. The cabin was designed in an early version of what became the National Park Service Rustic style.
The Central Fire Station is located in downtown Davenport, Iowa, United States and serves as the headquarters of the Davenport Fire Department, as well as the downtown fire station. Built from 1901 to 1902, the original building is the oldest active fire station west of the Mississippi River. It was individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. In 2020 it was included as a contributing property in the Davenport Downtown Commercial Historic District.
The Saint Mary Ranger Station is a ranger station in Glacier National Park in the U.S. state of Montana. The log cabin was built in 1913 on the east side of the park overlooking Upper Saint Mary Lake. The oldest administrative structures in the park., it features an architecture that foreshadows the National Park Service Rustic style.
The Tonopah Volunteer Firehouse and Gymnasium is a historic fire station located at the intersection of Brougher and Burro Streets in Tonopah, Nevada. Built in 1907, the firehouse housed Tonopah's volunteer fire department. The firehouse was built by Tonopah's newly appointed fire chief to address inadequacies in the town's fire protection services, which had failed to stop a major fire in 1904. A gymnasium for the firefighters was constructed next to the fire station in 1908. Tonopah still suffered three major fires after its fire station was built, including a 1920 fire which damaged the station itself; the building was subsequently restored to its original condition.
Roanoke City Firehouse No. 6 is a historic fire station located in the Belmont neighborhood of Roanoke, Virginia. It was built in 1911, and is a two-story, three-bay, hipped-roof building. in an effort to blend the station into its residential surroundings, it was constructed to resemble an early-20th century American Foursquare dwelling embellished with Classical Revival details. A wide center bay and two large double doors distinguish it from the homes in the neighborhood. The station was one of three with the same design that were built by architect Homer M. Miller and all put into service on the same day in September 1911. As of 2023, one of the other two stations survives and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011 as City of Roanoke Fire Station No. 5. The three stations were the first in Roanoke to be built for and equipped with motorized firefighting equipment. They were integrated into the neighborhoods they were built to serve, limiting their need to travel farther than 1.5 miles (2.4 km) in response to a call.
The city of Birmingham, Alabama, saw a vast period of growth in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. With its growth came an expansion in city services, notably the fire department. A number of new stations were constructed from 1910 through 1929, many of which are still standing. Together, ten of these historic fire stations are listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Historic Fire Stations of Birmingham Multiple Property Submission.
The Deerfield Center Historic District encompasses the heart of the rural New Hampshire town of Deerfield. It extends northwest along Church Street from its junction with North Road, Candia Road, and Raymond Road. It includes many of the town's municipal buildings, as well as a church and private residences, most of which were built before about 1920. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
The Rural Otter Creek Valley Historic District encompasses a rural agricultural area of southern Wallingford, Vermont. It includes nine past and present farmsteads along a stretch of United States Route 7 in the Otter Creek valley, with an agricultural history dating to the early decades of the 19th century. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
Indianapolis Fire Headquarters and Municipal Garage is a historic fire station and garage located at Indianapolis, Indiana. The Fire Headquarters was built in 1913 for the Indianapolis Fire Department, and is a three-story, Classical Revival style orange-brown glazed brick building with limestone detailing. It sits on a concrete foundation and has a square brick parapet. The Classical Revival style Municipal Garage was built in 1913, and expanded in 1925 with two Tudor Revival style additions.
The Ethan Allen Engine Company No. 4 is a historic former fire and police station at 135 Church Street in Burlington, Vermont, United States. Built in 1887 for a private fire company, it is a fine local example of 19th-century commercial architecture. It served the city as a fire and police station until the 1960s, and is now used as a commercial space. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971, and is a contributing property to the City Hall Park Historic District.
The South Boise Fire Station, at 1011 Williams St. in Boise, Idaho, was built in 1914. It was designed by architects Tourtellotte & Hummel. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
The Central Ohio Fire Museum is a firefighting museum in Downtown Columbus, Ohio, housed in the former Engine House No. 16 of the Columbus Fire Department, built in 1908. It was listed on the Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1983 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.
The Central Fire Station of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, also known as Station No. 1, at 100 S. Minnesota Ave., was built in 1913. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
The Wallingford Center Historic District encompasses the historic 18th and 19th-century town center of Wallingford, Connecticut. Extending mainly along North and South Main Streets, the district includes high-quality residential, civic, commercial, and institutional architecture from the mid-18th to early 20th centuries, reflecting the community's growth. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.
