The 2024 Leeds City Council election was held on Thursday 2 May 2024. It was held on the same day as the second West Yorkshire mayoral election and other local elections across the United Kingdom.^[3]

The Labour Party maintained control of the council, with their seat count holding steady. For the third year in a row, the Conservative Party lost three seats, all to Labour; the party would additionally lose a seat in Pudsey two days after the election when Trish Smith, re-elected the previous year, resigned to sit as an independent.^[4] The Green Party also succeeded in taking three seats from Labour and saw the largest popular vote share increase out of any of the parties, though Labour in turn unseated Green group leader David Blackburn, preventing the Greens from equalling the Liberal Democrats as the third-largest group on the council. The Social Democratic Party took the third seat in Middleton Park, wiping out the Labour Party's representation in the ward, and all other parties held level in their seat count.

Leeds City Council is the local authority of the City of Leeds in West Yorkshire, England. <span class="mw-page-title-main">1982 Leeds City Council election</span>

Elections to Leeds City Council were held on Thursday, 6 May 1982, with one-third of the council to be elected. As well as that, there was a vacancy to fill after the defection of Whinmoor incumbent Edward Hewitt to the newly formed Alliance between the Liberal Party and the Labour-breakaway Social Democratic Party in February, following his colleague and Headingley councillor, Ernest Millet, who had also defected to the SDP two months prior.

The Leeds City Council elections were held on Thursday, 8 May 1986, with one third of the council and a vacancy in Halton to be elected, following the resignation by Conservative incumbent Martin Dodgson in March. Prior to that, there had been a defection by the former-Alliance councillor in Armley, Sandy Melville, to Independent in January and a sacking and de-selection as Labour candidate for Wortley for Pat Fathers after he was found to be leaking information the previous December.

Ardsley and Robin Hood is an electoral ward of Leeds City Council in the south of Leeds, West Yorkshire, covering suburb areas and villages including Robin Hood, Tingley as well as both West and East Ardsley.

Armley is an electoral ward of Leeds City Council in the west of Leeds, West Yorkshire, covering the district of the same name.

Bramley and Stanningley is an electoral ward of Leeds City Council in west Leeds, West Yorkshire, covering the former industrial area of Bramley and district of Stanningley.

Cross Gates and Whinmoor is an electoral ward of Leeds City Council in east Leeds, West Yorkshire, covering the outer city suburb areas of Cross Gates, Manston, Swarcliffe and Whinmoor. Austhorpe is also shared with Temple Newsam ward to the south.

Morley North is an electoral ward of Leeds City Council in south west Leeds, West Yorkshire, covering Churwell to the north of Morley town and villages of Drighlington and Gildersome.

Morley South is an electoral ward of Leeds City Council in south west Leeds, West Yorkshire, covering the town of Morley and west Tingley.

Pudsey is an electoral ward of Leeds City Council in west Leeds, West Yorkshire, including the town of Pudsey and residential areas of Swinnow and Tyersal.

The Morley Borough Independents (MBI) are a local political party in Leeds, West Yorkshire, founded in 2004.

The 2021 Leeds City Council election took place on Thursday 6 May 2021 to elect members of Leeds City Council in England. It was held on the same day as other local elections across England and the rest of the UK, including the inaugural West Yorkshire mayoral election.
