Caused by the death on 7 January 1904 of Alderman Harry Rawson (Liberal Unionist, elected as an alderman by the council on 1 August 1894). [3] [4]

In his place, Councillor Charles Jennison (Conservative, Longsight, elected 1 November 1890) [5] was elected as an alderman by the council on 3 February 1904. [6]
