The 2016 Cambridge City Council election took place on 5 May 2016 to elect members of Cambridge City Council in England. This was on the same day as other nationwide local elections. The Labour Party grouping gained two seats from the Liberal Democrats, increasing their majority on the council from 6 to 10 seats. [1]

Cambridge is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2015 by Daniel Zeichner of the Labour Party.
(Kingston upon) Hull City Council is the governing body for the unitary authority and city of Kingston upon Hull. It was created in 1972 as the successor to the Corporation of Hull, which was also known as Hull Corporation and founded in 1440 by royal charter.
Cambridge City Council is the local authority for the city of Cambridge, a non-metropolitan district with city status in Cambridgeshire, England.
Elections for Cambridge City Council were held on Thursday 4 May 2006. As Cambridge City Council is elected by thirds, one seat in each of the city's 14 wards was up for election. The exception was Romsey, where two seats were up for election as a by-election for the other seat was held on the same day. Therefore, 15 of the 42 seats on the council were up for election. Overall turnout was 34.4%, down from 37.0% in 2004. The lowest turnout (28.4%) was in Abbey ward and the highest (40.8%) in Queen Edith's.
Local elections were held in the United Kingdom on 3 May 1979. The results provided some source of comfort to the Labour Party, who recovered some lost ground from local election reversals in previous years, despite losing the general election to the Conservative Party on the same day. The Liberals also gained councillors and a council.
Elections for Cambridge City Council were held on Thursday 5 May 2011. As the council is elected by thirds, one seat in each of the wards was up for election, with the exception of Cherry Hinton ward where two seats were up for election due to the early retirement of Councillor Stuart Newbold. The vote took place alongside the 2011 United Kingdom Alternative Vote referendum and a Cambridgeshire County Council by-election for Arbury ward.

Daniel Stephen Zeichner is a British politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Cambridge since 2015. A member of the Labour Party, he defeated Liberal Democrat Julian Huppert before retaining his seat in the 2017 and 2019 general elections. Prior to his parliamentary career, Zeichner was a councillor for eight years.

The Conservatives defended 10 seats, whilst the Liberal Democrats defended 4. Town and parish councils in the city boundary were also up for election.
The 2019 Exeter City Council election took place on 2 May 2019 to elect the members of Exeter City Council in Devon, England. This was on the same day as other local elections. 14 of the 39 seats were up for re-election: those of the candidates who had finished second in the all-out election of 2016, with a double vacancy in Priory ward. The Labour Party remained in control with 29 seats, with the Conservatives as the main opposition party, with 6 seats.

The election was held alongside a full election for Cambridge City Council, the Cambridgeshire Police and Crime Commissioner, Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and one-third of Peterborough City Council.
The 2021 Southampton City Council election took place in on 6 May 2021, on the same day as other local elections, to elect members of Southampton City Council. The election was originally due to take place in May 2020, to elect to the seats of councillors last elected in 2016, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
