The men's decathlon at the 2019 World Athletics Championships was held at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha from 2 to 4 October. [1]

Contents

Because of the timetable, with the last competition finishing after midnight local time on 4 October, the technical rules of decathlon were modified: since this edition, the decathlon has to be completed in a period of two 24 hours rather than over two consecutive days as before. Niklas Kaul was the winner of the competition.

Niklas Kaul German decathlete

Niklas Kaul is a German athlete competing in the combined events. He won the gold medal in the decathlon at the 2019 World Championships, becoming the youngest ever decathlon world champion. In addition, he won gold medals at the 2016 World U20 Championships and 2017 European U20 Championships and is the current world U20 record holder in the decathlon.

Majed Radhi Mubarak Al-Sayed is a Kuwaiti decathlete. He won the silver medal at the 2019 Asian Championships. He is the current national record holder in both decathlon and heptathlon.
