The 2025 Saskatchewan Roughriders season is scheduled to be the 67th season for the team in the Canadian Football League. It is the club's 116th year overall, and its 109th season of play. The Roughriders will attempt to qualify for the playoffs for the second consecutive season and win their fifth Grey Cup championship.

The 2025 CFL draft is scheduled to take place in the spring of 2025. [3] The Roughriders are scheduled to have eight selections in the eight-round draft. Not including traded picks or forfeitures, the team will select sixth in each round of the draft after finishing fourth in the 2024 league standings. [4]

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are a professional Canadian football team based in Regina, Saskatchewan. The Roughriders compete in the Canadian Football League (CFL) as a member club of the league's West Division. The Roughriders were founded in 1910 as the Regina Rugby Club. Although Saskatchewan was not the first team to play football in Western Canada, the club has maintained an unbroken organizational continuity since their founding. The Roughriders are the fourth-oldest professional gridiron football team in existence today. The Roughriders are both the oldest professional sports team still in existence that continuously has been based in Western Canada and the oldest in North America to continuously have been based west of St. Louis, Missouri. The 2007 CFL season was the 54th season of modern-day Canadian football, the 50th season of the Canadian Football League, and many special events were held to commemorate the event. Regular-season play began on June 28 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario and concluded on November 3. The playoffs began on November 11 and ended with the championship game, the 95th Grey Cup, at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, on November 25, 2007, with the Saskatchewan Roughriders as champions.

He was most recently the assistant head coach, defensive coordinator, and linebackers coach for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Shivers played professionally as a defensive back in the CFL, National Football League (NFL), and NFL Europe. He was originally selected by the St. Louis Rams in the fifth round of the 2004 NFL draft. He was also a member of the Chicago Bears, Hamburg Sea Devils, New York Giants, Toronto Argonauts, and Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

He was signed by the NFL's Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent in 2007.

The 2018 Winnipeg Blue Bombers season was the 61st season for the team in the Canadian Football League (CFL) and their 86th season overall. This was the fifth season under head coach Mike O'Shea and the fifth full season under general manager Kyle Walters. The team also finished in first place in West Division for the fourth season in a row. The Blue Bombers defeated the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the West Final and appeared in their fifth consecutive Grey Cup game. However, the team lost in the 111th Grey Cup to the Toronto Argonauts, resulting in their third consecutive loss.

The 2025 CFL national draft is a selection of national players by Canadian Football League teams that is scheduled to take place in the spring of 2025. Seventy-two players are scheduled to be chosen from among eligible players from Canadian Universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA. That number is subject to change if there are any more forfeited selections.
