63 CityCenter is a four-story shopping mall on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is part of the CityCenter complex, developed by MGM Resorts International. The two-acre site was previously planned as The Harmon, a hotel within CityCenter. However, due to structural defects, the hotel never opened and was dismantled in 2015. The property was sold six years later to developer Brett Torino and partner Flag Luxury Group, with plans to build retail space on the site. Construction of 63 CityCenter began in June 2021, and the first business in the mall opened in April 2023.
63 CityCenter is part of the CityCenter complex, occupying a two-acre site at the southwestern corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Harmon Avenue. The land was previously intended for The Harmon, [2] [3] an unfinished CityCenter hotel that was dismantled in 2015, due to structural defects. [4] In April 2021, MGM Resorts International and its CityCenter partner, Dubai World, agreed to sell the land to Las Vegas developer Brett Torino and New York-based Flag Luxury Group. [2] [5] They planned to build a four-story shopping mall known as "Project 63", [6] named for how old Torino and Flag CEO Paul Kanavos were at the time. [7] The name was later shortened to "63". [8] In 2024, the mall's name would be changed to 63 CityCenter. [9]
The project was designed by Arquitectonica and Knit Studios, [10] in collaboration with MGM to ensure that it complements the existing CityCenter complex. [7] MGM sold the land on the condition that a high-rise not be built on the property. The company approved of 63's four-story height, which would have minimal effect on the views from CityCenter's hotels. [6]
The $80 million sale was finalized in June 2021, [7] and construction began that month, [6] with Penta Building Group as general contractor. [11] Site preparation work took around six months, and included testing of pilings and footings left over following the Harmon's dismantling. [12] 63 CityCenter was topped off on April 26, 2022, one year after the land sale was announced. [13] Much of the facility was completed in October 2022, with the remainder expected to be finished four months later. [8] [14] The first business in the center, a gift shop, opened in April 2023. 63 CityCenter covers 228,278 sq ft (21,207.7 m2) across four floors. [8] [16] It is located directly north of CityCenter's high-end shopping mall, The Shops at Crystals, [17] although the two do not compete with each other. [7] The exterior of 63 CityCenter includes an LED billboard measuring 6,000 sq ft (560 m2). [7] [13] [18]
Ocean Prime opened a $20 million steakhouse on the top floor in June 2023. [19] [20] At 14,500 sq ft (1,350 m2), it is the brand's largest restaurant and its flagship location. [21] It is also the first Ocean Prime to open in Las Vegas, [22] and serves as the anchor restaurant for 63 CityCenter. [4]
Museum of Illusions opened their flagship location at 63 CityCenter in August 2023. [14] [23] Arte Museum, a series of immersive art exhibits, also opened that year in a two-story, 30,000 sq ft (2,800 m2) space. It already operated locations in Asia, and the Las Vegas site marked its U.S. debut. [24] [25] [26] Other tenants added in 2023 included a Ross department store and a Fat Tuesday restaurant. [23] In late 2024, country singer Jason Aldean is expected to open a restaurant and entertainment venue known as Jason Aldean's Kitchen + Bar, part of a small chain. [9] [27]
The Las Vegas Strip is a stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard in Clark County, Nevada, that is known for its concentration of resort hotels and casinos. The Strip, as it is known, is about 4.2 mi (6.8 km) long, and is immediately south of the Las Vegas city limits in the unincorporated towns of Paradise and Winchester, but is often referred to simply as "Las Vegas".
Mandalay Bay is a 43-story luxury resort and casino at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is owned by Vici Properties and operated by MGM Resorts International. It was developed by Circus Circus Enterprises and completed at a cost of $950 million. It opened on March 2, 1999, on the former site of the Hacienda hotel-casino. MGM acquired Mandalay Bay in 2005, and The Blackstone Group became a co-owner in 2020. Vici acquired MGM's ownership stake in 2022.
The Las Ramblas Resort was a proposed mixed-use project that was to be constructed in Paradise, Nevada. The project was to be located on 25 acres (10 ha) of land on Harmon Avenue, east of the Las Vegas Strip. Las Ramblas would have included 11 towers encompassing a hotel and condominium residences for a total of 4,400 units, including 300 hotel rooms. Other amenities would have included a small casino, retail stores, a spa and health club, and nightclubs. The complex would have totaled 8 million sq ft (740,000 m2), and was designed by Arquitectonica. The design was inspired by La Rambla, an open-air street in Barcelona.
Aria Campus, commonly known by its former name CityCenter, is a mixed-use, urban complex on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is located on 67 acres (27 ha) and contains a total of 18-million sq ft (1,700,000 m2). The complex includes Aria Resort and Casino, the Vdara condo-hotel, the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas hotel and condominiums, the Veer Towers condominiums, and a mall known as The Shops at Crystals. Another hotel and condo project, The Harmon, never opened due to construction defects; the site was redeveloped as another shopping mall, known as 63.
W Las Vegas was a planned condo-hotel and casino resort near the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It was announced in August 2005 as a joint venture between Edge Resorts and minority partner Starwood. The project was initially expected to cost $1.7 billion, and would include approximately 3,000 hotel, condo hotel, and residential units, as well as a 75,000 sq ft (7,000 m2) casino, in addition to restaurants, nightclubs, and shopping. The project initially was to be built on 21 acres (8.5 ha) located east of the Las Vegas Strip. The cost of the project ultimately increased to $2.5 billion.
Town Square is an open-air shopping, dining, office, and entertainment center in Enterprise, Nevada, United States. It occupies approximately 100 acres (40 ha), located one mile south of the Las Vegas Strip. It was developed by Centra Properties and Turnberry Associates. Construction began in 2005, with Marnell Corrao Associates as general contractor. Town Square opened on November 14, 2007. It has 1.5 million square feet (140,000 m2), including 350,000 sq ft (33,000 m2) of office space. In 2017, Town Square was sold to Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America and Fairbourne Properties, with the latter also handling management.
The Downtown Summerlin shopping center or DTS is an outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment center. It is a part of the greater Downtown Summerlin area, a 400-acre (160 ha) development which lies within the community of Summerlin South on the western outskirts of Las Vegas, Nevada. The shopping center contains 1,600,000 square feet (150,000 m2) and is located on 106 acres (43 ha).
The Fontainebleau Las Vegas is a resort and casino on the Las Vegas Strip in Winchester, Nevada. It is owned and operated by Fontainebleau Development and is a sister property to Fontainebleau Miami Beach, and sits on the 24.5-acre (9.9 ha) site previously occupied by the El Rancho Hotel and Casino and the Algiers Hotel. Ownership and development has changed several times since the project was announced in May 2005. It was originally proposed by developer Fontainebleau Resorts, owned by Jeff Soffer.
The Shops at Crystals is an upscale shopping mall in the CityCenter complex on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The 500,000-square-foot (46,000 m2) mall contains high-end retailers, gourmet restaurants, and art galleries. The exterior design was created by Daniel Libeskind, while David Rockwell worked on interiors. For its environmentally friendly design, Crystals received LEED Gold Core & Shell certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, making it the largest retail district in the world to achieve such a feat.
The Harmon was an unfinished high-rise building at the CityCenter development, located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It was named after its location at the intersection of Harmon Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard. The Harmon was developed by MGM Mirage and Dubai World, with Perini Building Company as general contractor. It was designed by Foster and Partners as a non-gaming hotel, and was to be operated by The Light Group. It was scheduled to open with the rest of CityCenter in late 2009. The tower originally was to rise 49 stories, and would include 400 hotel rooms and 207 condominiums.
Las Vegas Premium Outlets North is an outlet mall located on 40 acres (16 ha) in downtown Las Vegas, north of the Las Vegas Strip. It is an outdoor mall with 685,000-square-foot (63,600 m2). It is owned and managed by Simon Property Group, and is part of Simon's Premium Outlets chain. It was co-developed with Chelsea Property Group, and was opened on August 1, 2003. Expansions were finished in 2008 and 2015, adding additional retailers and parking spaces.
All Net Resort & Arena was a planned entertainment complex in Las Vegas. A project of businessman and former basketball player Jackie Robinson, the complex would have included a resort hotel, retail and restaurant space, and a multi-purpose arena with a retractable roof. Its location was set on the Las Vegas Strip at the former site of a Wet 'n Wild waterpark, next to the Sahara Las Vegas in Winchester, Nevada.
Downtown Summerlin is a 400-acre (160 ha) mixed-use development in Summerlin, Nevada, a suburban area on the western outskirts of Las Vegas. It includes the Downtown Summerlin shopping center, office space, and several apartment properties. Downtown Summerlin was developed by The Howard Hughes Corporation, which also developed the Summerlin community.
Showcase Mall is a shopping center on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is known for its landmark facade, featuring a 100-foot (30 m) tall Coca-Cola bottle and a colossal bag of M&M's.
Harmon Corner is an enclosed three-story shopping mall on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, United States. Construction began in 2011, and the mall opened in 2012. The 110,184-square-foot mall includes various restaurants, and its anchor store is a two-story Walgreens. The mall's signature feature is its LED video billboard screen, measuring 60 feet high and 306 feet wide. It was the world's largest LED screen when it became operational in 2012. The mall achieved a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Silver certification in 2013.
Majestic Las Vegas is a cancelled high-rise condominium project that was to be built on property previously occupied by the La Concha Motel on the Las Vegas Strip, in Winchester, Nevada. The project was announced by La Concha owner Lorenzo Doumani in February 2004. The 42-story condominium tower was to be accompanied by Hilton's Conrad Las Vegas, a Conrad-branded, 37-story hotel that would operate in a separate high-rise building on the same property. The project was initially expected to open in February 2006.
Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is a hotel and casino resort in Paradise, Nevada, east of the Las Vegas Strip. It previously operated as the Hard Rock Hotel from 1995 to 2020, before closing for renovations to be rebranded as Virgin Hotels.
AREA15 is an experiential retail and entertainment complex located in Las Vegas, Nevada, one mile west of the Las Vegas Strip. It houses several major experiential entertainment residencies and includes sculptures and other art displays, as well as alcohol outlets and a restaurant.
Dream Las Vegas is a boutique hotel and casino project proposed for the southern Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is being developed by Shopoff Realty Investments and the real estate firm Contour. Dream Las Vegas was announced in February 2020, and construction was expected to begin within a year. However, the project was delayed after the Transportation Security Administration raised numerous safety concerns, regarding its proximity with Harry Reid International Airport.
Blvd is a three-story shopping center under construction on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is being developed by Gindi Capital, in partnership with entrepreneurs Andrew and Peggy Cherng. The project was announced in 2019, but delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Construction began in 2023, and the project is scheduled to open in early 2025.
