The Adair County Courthouse in Columbia, Kentucky, a courthouse at 500 Public Sq., was built in 1885. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. [1]

It was designed by McDonald Brothers. It was built by William Henry Hudson, "who was so proud of his work that he had his portrait carved in a capital on the porch." [2]

It has a four-sided clock tower. It was deemed " one of the best preserved of major late 19th-century Kentucky courthouses." [2]

Adair County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 18,903. Its county seat and only municipality is Columbia. The county was founded in 1801 and named for John Adair, then Speaker of the House in Kentucky and later Governor of Kentucky. The Adair County Courthouse is located in Stilwell, Oklahoma and is the central building for the county government for Adair County, Oklahoma. The current building is the fourth building in Stilwell to serve as the courthouse. From 1902 until 1908 a two-story wood-frame schoolhouse served as the courthouse. In 1908 a new brick building was built and was used until 1920 when a building of native stone was built. On December 30, 1929, the new stone building burned down. The current classically inspired, art deco building was built on the same site and was completed in 1930. The building was designed by J. J. Harrelson and was built out of limestone, steel, and concrete. The cornice has molded bas-relief figures of American Indians in full headdress. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. In 1992 a marble war memorial which contained the names of all Adair County residents killed in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War was dedicated on the courthouse lawn.

Built in 1909 to 1910 at a cost of $39,786, it was designed by Georgia-born American architect Edward Columbus Hosford, who is noted for the courthouses and other buildings that he designed in Florida, Georgia and Texas. Mutual Construction Company of Louisville, Kentucky built it of Fredericksburg granite and rusticated stone. There are gable front porticoes on all four sides, each or which is supported by four 2-story Doric columns.

Adair County Courthouse is a historic courthouse located at Kirksville, Adair County, Missouri. It was built in 1898, and is a three-story, Richardsonian Romanesque style rectangular building. It is constructed of rusticated stone, and has a medium composition hipped roof. It has four gables, four hipped dormers, and features four corner pavilions with pyramidal roofs. It features large Roman entrance arches supported by pairs of short, thick colonnettes of polished granite.
