The Benjamin Martin House near Finney, Kentucky was built in 1812 by Benjamin Martin, Sr., who lived from 1758 to 1838, and came to Kentucky from Virginia in 1784. [2]

It is one of few Federal-style brick houses surviving from its era in Barren County, Kentucky. [2]

The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. [1]

The Benjamin Helm House is a two-story brick house in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, that was built in 1816 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. It is significant as the home of Benjamin Helm, an early settler of Elizabethtown. He made the first survey of the town and later became a wealthy local businessman, dying in 1858. He was the uncle of Governor John L. Helm, and great uncle of Confederate general Benjamin Hardin Helm.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">James Martin House (Florence, Alabama)</span> United States historic place

The James Martin House is a historic residence in Florence, Alabama. Martin was a leading Florence industrialist of the Antebellum era, who owned a cotton spinning mill along Cypress Creek. He had come to Florence from Jefferson County, Kentucky, and established his mill in 1839. A fire destroyed the complex in 1844, but was rebuilt and reopened in 1850. The mill was destroyed during the Civil War, but not rebuilt before Martin's death in 1869. Martin's sons operated the mill until 1873, and owned the house until 1879. It was purchased in 1886 by John Bounds, and remained in his family until 1974.
