This is a list of the National Register of Historic Places listings in Wayne County, Michigan.
Wheatleigh is a historic country estate on West Hawthorne Road in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, United States. Built in 1893 to a design by Peabody and Stearns, it is one of the few surviving great Berkshire Cottages of the late 19th century, with grounds landscaped by Frederick Law Olmsted. Its estate now reduced to 22 acres (8.9 ha), Wheatleigh was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It is now operated as a hotel.
The Drake Court Apartments and the Dartmore Apartments Historic District, built between 1916 and 1921, is located at Jones Street from 20th to 23rd Streets in Midtown Omaha, in the U.S. state of Nebraska. Built in combined Georgian Revival, Colonial Revival and Prairie School styles, the complex was designated a City of Omaha Landmark in 1978; it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district in 1980. The historic district originally included 6.5 acres (2.6 ha) with 19 buildings. In 2014, boundary of the historic district was expanded by 0.74 acres (0.30 ha) include three additional buildings, and decreased by 3 acres (1.2 ha) to remove open space and parking that had been re-purposed, for a new total of 4.24 acres (1.72 ha). The district was also renamed to Drake Court Historic District.
The Nissen Building is a 283 ft 18-story skyscraper in Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina, built in 1927. It was the largest building in the city, succeeding the Hotel Robert E. Lee, and the tallest building in North Carolina from 1927 to 1929, when it was succeeded by the Reynolds Building; all three buildings were in Winston-Salem. The Nissen Building was named to the National Register of Historic Places March 17, 1983, with a boundary increase in 2004 to include a one-story addition built in 1969. With the spire on top, its height is 102.1m.
Wilder Apartments, also known as Emerald Manor, is an Early Commercial-style apartment building in Eugene, Oregon that was built in 1927. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.
The historic building now operated as the restaurant Jakes Chaparral had a number of prior uses including Kanab Lodge, Parry Cafeteria, Utah Parks Building and Wok Inn restaurant in Kanab, Utah, USA. The original section of the lodge is a house built in 1885, which was expanded between 1928 and 1932 by the Utah Parks Company to serve as a rest stop for tourists about halfway between the north rim of the Grand Canyon and Zion or Bryce Canyon National Parks.
The Cathcart is a historic apartment building located at 103 E. 9th St. in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. It was built in 1909 amid an apartment-building boom in what is now central Indianapolis.
The Samuel Farnsworth House is a historic house at 537 Mountain Road in West Hartford, Connecticut, United States. Probably built about 1797, it is one of West Hartford's few surviving 18th-century buildings, and a particularly rare example of a small vernacular single-story cottage. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 10, 1986.
Leis Block is a historic commercial building located at Saranac Lake in the town of Harrietstown, Franklin County, New York. It was built in 1902 and is a three-story wood frame structure. Renovations between 1910 and 1914 that added the current brick front, resulted in four full apartments, each containing a central inset sleeping porch. The storefronts once were occupied by Henry Leis's piano and music store and Earl Finegan's pharmacy. Henry Leis, who owned the block until his death in 1940, also built the Leis Cottage. The current structure has ten apartments and two storefronts. The pharmacy at one time was named Terminal Pharmacy because it was the bus stop. Later it was renamed Hoffman Pharmacy.
The Hailey Masonic Lodge refers to a historic building, which was built in 1937 in Hailey, Idaho. The building was constructed as a meeting hall for Hailey Lodge No. 16, a local chapter of the Freemasons. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.
The H. J. Heinz Company complex, part of which is currently known as Heinz Lofts, is a historic industrial complex in the Troy Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The buildings were built by the H. J. Heinz Company from 1907 through 1958. The complex is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) and five of the buildings are listed as a Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmark.
The Packard Motor Car Company Building, also known as the Press Building, is a historic office building located at 317–321 N. Broad Street between Pearl and Wood Streets in the Callowhill neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The structure was built in 1910–11 and was designed by Albert Kahn of the noted Detroit architectural firm of Kahn & Wilby. It is a seven-story, steel framed, reinforced concrete building – one of the first uses of that material in a commercial building. Clad in terra cotta and featuring an ornamented canopy and a prominent overhanging roof, the building housed a showroom and new car inventory space for the Packard Motor Car Company. The showroom was remodeled in 1927 by Philip Tyre. In November 1928, the building became the headquarters of the Philadelphia Record newspaper, which it remained until the Record folded in a 1947 strike.
The Skarsbo Apartments is a group of buildings located at 204 and 210 North Sixth Street, Grand Forks, North Dakota which were added to the National Register of Historic Places on 27 August 2013. The complex consists of two nearly identical brick apartment buildings and an associated caretakers cottage. The buildings are considered to be excellent examples of apartment buildings built in Grand Forks in the late 1920s.
The Murray Apartments and Cottages are a small cluster of historic residential properties at 200, 204, and 206 Seward Street, on the edge of the business district of Sitka, Alaska. Two of the buildings are 1-1/2 story frame cottages, while the third, also known as the Murray Flats and the Baranof Apartments, is a 2-1/2 story frame structure housing four apartments. These buildings originally stood in Douglas, Alaska, and were disassembled and moved to Sitka in 1921 by Abner Murray. They represent the first buildings erected in Sitka specifically intended as residential housing rental units; the apartment house was the first multi-unit residential unit in Sitka to be built since the Alaska Purchase in 1867.
The Herring Hotel, also known as the Herring Cottage, The Herring, Hotel Herring, The Graham House Hotel, is a historic building located in Belle Plaine, Iowa, United States. Built in 1900, the American Craftsman style frame building replaced an earlier hotel with the same name that had been destroyed in a massive fire that destroyed most of the central business district in 1894. Will Herring built his namesake hotel and he had owned the previous hotel, which had been built by his father-in-law William Blossom as the Tremont House. The building was designed by Cedar Rapids architect Charles A. Dieman, and constructed by local contractor James Park.
Sheffield Inn, also known as the Sheffield Apartments, is a historic apartment building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1927, and is a two-story, "I"-shaped Tudor Revival style masonry building. It features a multi-gabled slate roof with 2½-story projecting gabled pavilion, decorative chimney, banks of leaded glass windows, and decorative half-timbering. The building was originally designed as a residential hotel and remodeled in 1971. It is located immediately next to the Manchester Apartments.
Linwood Colonial Apartments, also known as Colonial Park Apartments, is a historic garden apartment complex and national historic district located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1937–1938, and consists of three three-story, Colonial Revival style red brick buildings. It has 106 apartments and includes a "U"-shaped building and two stepped plan buildings.
The Cottage Bakery is a historic building on Central Avenue in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was built in 1937 by a local bakery, the Cottage Pure Food Shoppe, and is significant as a relatively unaltered 1930s food-vending establishment, as well as for its use of roadside novelty architecture to attract customers. The front of the building was constructed in the form of a thatched cottage, which was intended to evoke "a bucolic purity that clients would associate with dairy and bakery products". It was listed on the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties and the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.
The Farnsworth Apartments is a historic three-story building in Ogden, Utah. It was built by the Taylor Building Company in 1922, and acquired by investors J. W. and Flora F. Farnsworth in 1923. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic places since December 31, 1987.
