The Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart, on First Street in Emmett, Idaho, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. [1]

It was designed by architects Tourtellotte & Hummel in Mission Revival style.

Its front facade has a gabled roof, a baroque-curved bell tower, a round-arched entrance, and "stucco fabric enriched with wrought-iron ornament." It was built in 1928 with a 35 by 50 feet (11 m × 15 m) nave and a 12 by 38 feet (3.7 m × 11.6 m) sanctuary and sacristy offset at the rear. It was modified with additions in 1977. [2]

It is located on First Street at Hayes Avenue, directly across from the First Baptist Church of Emmett. [2]

It is one of six churches within a two block area of Emmett, established there from 1906 to 1934, which were together studied and proposed for listing on the National Register. [3] The six are: Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart (Emmett, Idaho), Emmett Presbyterian Church, First Baptist Church of Emmett, Methodist Episcopal Church (Emmett, Idaho), and St. Mary's Episcopal Church (Emmett, Idaho), which were all listed in 1980, and the First Full Gospel/United Pentecostal Church, which was not listed. Hummel Architects PLLC is an American architectural firm based in Boise, Idaho. Its history extends back to 1890, when architect and contractor John E. Tourtellotte (1869-1939), of Massachusetts established himself in Boise. The firm is best remembered for the work it completed from 1910 to 1942 under the partnership / firm name of Tourtellotte & Hummel, joining with Charles Hummel, including the Idaho State Capitol in Boise,. From 1922 until 2002 it was led by three successive generations of the Hummel family.

Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Rectory is a historic Roman Catholic church site at 102 Center Point Road in Wilburton, Latimer County, Oklahoma. This site was built in 1912, and has been in continuous use since then. The church and rectory sit on a one-acre plot. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) on November 26, 1980. Originally, this was a parish church serving coal miners and their families, totaling about 150 people at the peak of the boom. Usually, since the coal boom ended many years ago, the church serves between 75 and 80 people.
