Cloquet is a city in Carlton County, Minnesota, United States, at the junction of Interstate 35 and Minnesota State Highway 33. Part of the city lies within the Fond du Lac Indian Reservation and serves as one of the reservation's three administrative centers. The population was 12,568 at the 2020 census.

Savanna Portage State Park is a state park of Minnesota, USA, established in 1961 to preserve the historic Savanna Portage, a difficult 6-mile (9.7 km) trail connecting the watersheds of the Mississippi River and Lake Superior. The portage trail crosses a drainage divide separating the West Savanna River, which drains to the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico, from the East Savanna River, which flows in an opposite direction to the Saint Louis River, Lake Superior and the Great Lakes, and the Saint Lawrence River to the Atlantic Ocean.
The Cloquet fire was an immense forest fire in northern Minnesota, United States in October 1918, caused by sparks on the local railroads and dry conditions. The fire left much of western Carlton County devastated, mostly affecting Moose Lake, Cloquet, and Kettle River. Cloquet was hit the hardest by the fires. It was the worst natural disaster in Minnesota history in terms of the number of casualties in a single day. In total, 453 people died and 52,000 people were injured or displaced, 38 communities were destroyed, 250,000 acres (100,000 ha) were burned, and $73 million in property damage was suffered. Thirteen million dollars in federal aid were disbursed.
Cloquet High School (CHS) is a high school in Cloquet in the U.S. state of Minnesota. Operated by Cloquet Public Schools, it serves approximately 700 students; a typical graduating class has 160 to 200 members. It has existed for over 100 years. The current building was built in 1969, with the old building then being turned into a middle school. That building was built in 1921 replacing an earlier school destroyed, along with much of the town, in the 1918 Cloquet fire.
The Carlton County Courthouse in Carlton, Minnesota, United States, is the county seat of Carlton County, Minnesota. The county seat was originally located in Cloquet, with a jail located at the town of Northern Pacific Junction. In 1890, residents of Northern Pacific Junction raised funds to build a courthouse, which was a two-story brick building with a high-pitched gable roof. The current building took about two years to build, being completed in 1924. It is a three-story building with cream-colored brick and stone.
The Church of Saints Joseph and Mary or Sawyer Log Church was built in 1884 by Ojibwe parishioners in Sawyer, Minnesota, United States. It is one of the state's oldest Catholic churches built among the Ojibwe people, one of the oldest churches in northern Minnesota overall, and one of Carlton County's few historic buildings to predate the 1918 Cloquet Fire.

The building was one of the few buildings that survived the 1918 Cloquet Fire, and it was used to provide shelter for those left homeless in the fires. The R. W. Lindholm Service Station is a service station designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and located in Cloquet, Minnesota, United States. Built in 1958 and still in use, it is the only station built to a Wright design during his lifetime. It was originally part of Wright's utopian Broadacre City plan and is one of the few designs from that plan that was actually implemented. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Cloquet-Northern Office Building is the historic headquarters for several offices in Cloquet, Minnesota owned by the Weyerhaeuser family. The building was constructed in the early spring and summer of 1919, after the Cloquet fire on October 12, 1918 that caused extensive destruction in Carlton and St. Louis counties. The building housed the Cloquet Lumber Company, the Northern Lumber Company, the Northwest Paper Company, the St. Louis River Mercantile Company, the Duluth and Northeastern Railroad, the Cloquet Tie and Post Company, and the Knife Falls Boom Company. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
