The Davie School is a historic school in Davie, Florida, USA. It is located at 6650 Griffin Road. It was designed by August Geiger. It opened its doors in 1918 to 90 students, and was in continuous use as a school until 1978. On March 29, 1988, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. It is the oldest extant school building in Broward County.
The Casa de la Guerra was the residence of the fifth commandant of the Presidio de Santa Barbara, José de la Guerra y Noriega from 1828 until his death in 1858. Descendants of José lived in the home until 1943. The site is currently owned and operated by the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation as a historic house museum. The Main Street Historic District in Tampico, Illinois, United States is a historic district notable as home to the birthplace of Ronald Reagan. The district includes the late 19th century collection of buildings that comprise Tampico's central business district, among them are two apartments that the Reagan family occupied in the early 1900s. The buildings in the district went through several periods of rebuilding during the 1870s due to major fires and a tornado. The district boundaries encompass the 100 block of Main Street and exclude properties that do not date from the historic period.
The Kit Carson House is a historic house museum at 113 Kit Carson Road in central Taos, New Mexico. Built in 1825, it was from 1843 until his death the home of frontiersman Kit Carson (1809-1868). A good example of Spanish Colonial architecture, it is now owned by the local Masonic fraternity, and serves as a museum dedicated to Carson's life. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1963.
The Ygnacio Palomares Adobe, also known as Adobe de Palomares, is a one-story adobe brick structure in Pomona, California, built between 1850 and 1855 as a residence for Don Ygnacio Palomares. It was abandoned in the 1880s and was left to the elements until it was acquired by the City of Pomona in the 1930s. In 1939, the adobe was restored in a joint project of the City of Pomona, the Historical Society of Pomona Valley and the Works Project Administration. Since 1940, it has been open to the public as a museum on life in the Spanish and Mexican ranchos. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. Of the more than 400 sites in Los Angeles County that have been listed on the National Register, fewer than ten received the distinction prior to the Ygnacio Palomares Adobe.
Boggsville is a former settlement in Bent County, Colorado, USA near the Purgatoire River about 3 miles (4.8 km) above the Purgatoire's confluence with the Arkansas River. It was established in 1866. The surviving structures are among the earliest examples of Territorial architecture in Colorado. Boggsville was the last home of frontiersman Kit Carson before his death in 1868 at Fort Lyon. The U.S. Post Office at Las Animas now serves Boggsville postal addresses.
The Christian Jipp Home & Grocery is a historic building located in the Hamburg Historic District in Davenport, Iowa, United States. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The house and grocery was individually listed on the Davenport Register of Historic Properties in 2005.
The Canadian County Jail and Stable comprises two buildings constructed at different times. The jail is a building located at 300 South Evans in El Reno, Oklahoma. It is the abandoned site of the county jail of Canadian County, and sits west of the current county jail on the same block.
The Brinley Avenue Historic District is a historic district in downtown Yuma, Arizona, that runs along Madison Avenue from 1st to 3rd Streets and along Second Street from Main Street to 1st Avenue. The district connected Yuma's historic commercial center along Main Street with its government center on 2nd Avenue and was actively developed from 1900 to 1925. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and is also included in the larger Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area.
The Bowery Street Grocery Store, also known as Helmer's Grocery and as the New Pioneer Food Cooperative, is a historic building located on the far west side of Iowa City, Iowa, United States. The building's construction is consistent with those built in the mid-19th century. The single-story wood frame structure with the false front was a popular commercial style building that was built in Iowa from that time period. Beginning about 1897 the city directory lists this location as a meat market and grocery store. It would continue to house that type of business, under a variety of owners or renters until 1975. In addition to a retail establishment, it also served as a meeting place for people in the neighborhood. The New Pioneer Food Cooperative was last grocery to occupy the space until is relocated to a larger facility. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.
The Thomas Earl House was built as a single-family home located at 415 North Main Street in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. The house has been renovated to office space.
Montoya Ranch was a ranch in Farisita, Huerfano County, Colorado, along the Huerfano River. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012. The ranch house was built in or after 1867 with Spanish Colonial and territorial architectural elements. At that time, there were many New Mexicans moving to Colorado, and many ranched and farmed in the Huerfano valley.
Doyle Settlement was a ranch and settlement in Pueblo, Pueblo County, Colorado. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 4, 1980.
The Barela-Reynolds House is a historic adobe and brick building complex on the historic plaza in Mesilla, New Mexico, with a store at the front and a house at the rear. A zaguan leads to a rear courtyard about 30 by 30 feet in plan, enclosed by the buildings, the oldest of which were built around 1850. Two separate parts were merged into one property in 1903. North of the zaguan was a store operated during the 1850's by trader Mariano Yrissari and later by trader Mariano Barela. The front of this portion is topped by a triangular parapet, a Greek Revival style feature adopted into New Mexico's Territorial style, and the triangle is repeated in pedimented lintels of two doorways and two large windows. This part was a silversmith shop, "El Platero", in 1977, which moved to the other part by 2009. South of the zaguan is a portion occupied by an antique shop, "Las Viejas", in 1977. This part has a cast iron front and a metal, bracketed cornice, with a flagpole centered above. It was the "notions and dry goods department" of the Reynolds and Griggs Co., a firm which operated feed and grocery business in the next building to the south, not part of this property.
The Wilson A. Hart House, at 802 Raton Ave. in La Junta, Colorado, was built in 1898. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
McIntire Ranch, in Conejos County, Colorado near Sanford, Colorado, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008. The listing included the remains of ranch buildings on a 14.2 acres (5.7 ha) area.
