Mohammad Ismail Khan is a politician in Afghanistan, who served as Minister of Energy and Water from 2005 to 2013. He was previously the governor of Herat Province. He is widely known as a warlord because of his rise to power during the Soviet–Afghan War when he controlled a large mujahideen force, mainly his fellow Tajiks from western Afghanistan. He is a key member of the political party Jamiat-e Islami and was a member of the now defunct United National Front party.

Atta Muhammad Nur (also spelled Ata Mohammed Noor,, served as the Governor of Balkh Province in Afghanistan from 2004 to January 25, 2018. An ethnic Tajik, he worked to educate the Mujahideen after the 1979 Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, gaining the nickname "The Teacher." He then became a mujahideen resistance commander for the Jamiat-e Islami against the Soviets.

There is a shrine dedicated to him on a hilltop just north of the Bazaar. It contains 85 villages. Ethnic diversity includes 80% Uzbek, 10% Pashtun and 10% Tajik.
Qaisar district is situated in the southwestern part of the Faryab Province of Afghanistan. In 1009, the population was 122,300 with an ethnic composition of 70% Uzbek, 16% Tajik, 10% Pashtun and 4% Turkman. The district center Qeysar, at the edge of the vast desert of Qaisar, has almost the same peculiarities of the Almar bazaar. This bazaar received its name at the end of the nineteenth century.
Shirin-Tagab is the district center in the Faryab Province, Afghanistan. The population was 141,642 in 2013. Ethnic composition includes 10% Pashtun, 10% Tajik and 80% Uzbek.

Abdul Latif Ibrahimi is the former Governor of the Afghan Provinces Kunduz, Samangan, Faryab and Takhar. Abdul Latif Ibrahimi is member of the Ibrahims Clan, a predominant family in the Imam Sahib district in Kunduz. Imam Sahib is situated on the border with Tajikistan. It is a fertile agrarian district. Accordingly, the district is strategically very significant. The people of imam saheb love the Ibrahimi, he is very hamble person. After the war Abdul Latif Ibrahimi became Governor of the Province. He was removed two years later and served for a short term as Governor of Faryab and of Takhar.
Sayed Anwar Sadat is an ethnic Uzbek politician in Afghanistan. He served as governor of Faryab Province from 2015 to 2017.
Ghezaal Enayat is an Afghan singer and songwriter. She rose to fame with her first duet song "Dil-e Beqarar". She sings both in Pashto and Dari languages. With over 1.2 million followers, she is the most followed female Afghan on Instagram. She was born in Kabul, her father is from laghman province and her mother is from Kandahar province.
