Ahmadullah Alizai (born 1972) is a politician in Afghanistan who served as a ministerial advisor to the President. He has worked as Governor of Badghis and Governor of Kabul Province. [1] He previously served as the Deputy Governor of Kabul Province,Deputy Governor of Nangarhar Province,and as Director of Counter-Narcotic directorate for the southwest zone.
Alizai was born on 1972 in the Maruf District of Kandahar Province in southern Afghanistan. He is an ethnic Pashtun from the Alizai tribe of southern Afghanistan. He comes from an educated,influential and political family.[ citation needed ] His father was an elder of the Alizai tribe who played a vital role during the Soviet–Afghan War.[ citation needed ]
During the Soviet war,he migrated to Pakistan and gained primary education in Pishin,Balochistan.[ citation needed ] He graduated from high school in 1989. He earned his B.A degree in 1997 and M.A degree in 1999,both in political science.[ citation needed ]
During 1995,he established a non-governmental organization (NGO) in order to serve Afghans in Pakistan.[ citation needed ]
Alizai was appointed as the General Director for the ARDP for five years.[ citation needed ] He became the director of the Counter Narcotics Police of Afghanistan stationed in the southwest zone for three years right after he left the organization in 2001.[ citation needed ]
Alizai started his other job as the director for the general directorate of Counter-Narcotic at East zone,from 2005 to 2008. He was then appointed to assist the central government and government strategies,and was assigned to work as the deputy governor for the east Nangarhar provincial government office for one ending in 2008 but due to the needs and repeated asks of the central government he got an assignment as the deputy governor for the Kabul government office,where he could be more helpful to the government and the people of Afghanistan. He was the deputy governor in Kabul Province for three years starting from 2008. He became the acting governor of Kabul Province in April 2011 after Zabihullah Mojaddidy resigned.
Gul Agha Sherzai,also known as Mohammad Shafiq,is a politician and former warlord in Afghanistan. He is a former governor of Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan. He previously served as Governor of Kandahar province,in the early 1990s and from 2001 until 2003. In October 2013,Sherzai resigned from his post as governor and formally announced himself as a candidate for Afghanistan's 2014 Presidential Election,and served as the minister of border and tribal affairs until the Taliban captured Afghanistan again in 2021.

Haji Abdul Qadeer was an Afghan politician and prominent Northern Alliance leader who fought the Taliban during the Third Afghan Civil War. He was the older brother of fellow anti-Soviet and Northern Alliance commander Abdul Haq,who was assassinated in late 2001 by the Taliban.

Sher Mohammed Akhundzada is an Alizai tribal leader who was the Governor of Helmand in Afghanistan from 2001 to 2005. As governor,he implemented various agricultural projects in Helmand,including canal excavation from the Kajaki dam for irrigation and electricity generation projects. He was deeply involved in opium production and smuggling,leading to his removal from office by the Afghan government in 2005 after lobbying by the British,who were leading counter-narcotic efforts in Afghanistan at the time. He was succeeded as governor of Helmand by Mohammad Daoud.
Rahmatullah Rahmat is an Afghan politician. He served as the governor of Paktia province from 2006 to 2007. He was appointed to the position after the assassination of Hakim Taniwal. Rahmat was previously an official of the UNAMA mission in the east of the country.
Zarar Ahmad Moqbel Osmani is a politician in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan who was Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Interior. Hajji Din Mohammad also known as Azizullah Din Mohammad is a politician in Afghanistan who served as the Governor of Nangarhar Province followed by Governor of Kabul Province. He is currently the Chairman of Peace and Development Islamic Party. He has been involved in the peace and reconciliation process between the Afghan Government and the Taliban and is currently the deputy of High Council for National Reconciliation. Haji Din Mohammad comes from a distinguished Pashtun family "Arsala" The Arsala family is part of the Jabar Khel. He is also the elder brother of late Hajji Abdul Qadir and Abdul Haq. His great-grandfather,Wazir Arsala Khan,served as Foreign Minister of Afghanistan in 1869. One of Arsala Khan's descendants,Taj Mohammad Khan,was a general at the Battle of Maiwand. Another descendant,Abdul Jabbar Khan,was Afghanistan’s first Ambassador to Russia.
Mirwais Yasini میرویسیاسینیis the current First Deputy Speaker of the Lower House of the Afghan Parliament. Following the Communist coup in 1978,Mirwais Yasini worked actively to combat the Soviet invasion,and went on to oppose the Taliban from 1993 to 2001 as a social and political activist. After the fall of the Taliban regime in 2002,Yasini began his political career as the Director of Foreign Relations and Economic Evaluation for Afghanistan's Ministry of Finance,and as a prominent member of the Emergency Loya Jirga,which met in Kabul. Since that time he has held several high-level political posts,including such titles as the First Deputy Speaker of the Constitutional Loya Jirga and Director General of the Counter Narcotics Department.
Mohammad Yousef Pashtun is an Afghan technocrat and politician. He served as Minister of Urban Development and Housing for two terms and as Governor of Kandahar province in 2003,replacing Gul Agha Sherzai under President Hamid Karzai's administration. In 2010,he was appointed as Senior Adviser to President Karzai on Construction,Mines,Water &Energy. In 2014,minister Pashtun continued to serve as Senior Adviser to President Ashraf Ghani. Yِousef Pashtun is also chairing the Kabul New City Development Authority Board.

Ahmad Zia Saraj was final Director General of NDS from 2019 to 2021,until the collapse of the Islamic Republic. He served as the Deputy Director General,chief of counter terrorism department,deputy chief of foreign intelligence &counterintelligence and some other key positions in NDS respectively over 20 years after the fall of Taliban in 2001. He serves as visiting professor in the war studies department of the King's College London University.
