The Finn European Championship is an annual European Championship sailing regatta in the Finn (dinghy) classes organised by the International Finn Association.
The Finn dinghy is a single-handed, cat-rigged sailboat, and a former Olympic class for men's sailing. Since its debut at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, the Finn featured in every summer Olympics until 2020, making it the longest serving dinghy in the Olympic Regatta and one of the most prolific Olympic sailboats,. The Finn is a physically demanding boat to race at the highest levels, especially since the class rules now allow unlimited boat rocking and sail pumping when the wind is above 10 knots. The event did not feature on the Olympic programme from 2024.
Jacobus Hermanus Hendrik Jan "Koos" de Jong was a sailor from the Netherlands. He competed in the Firefly event at the 1948 Olympics and in the Finn event at the 1952 Games and won a bronze medal in 1948, placing fourth in 1952. De Jong won several medals at European championships, including the gold in 1959.
The 470 World Championships have been held every year since 1970 and organised by the club on behalf of the International 470 Class Association and recognized by World Sailing. When the Championship forms part of the ISAF Sailing World Championships.

Paweł Aleksander Maria Tarnowski is a Polish sailor, son of Jacek Tarnowski, and Monika Wanicka. Tarnowski already competed at the top-level when he was a teenager, becoming a multiple medal winner in Junior World Championships. In 2011 and 2012, he won a gold medal at the RS:X Junior World Championships, and he won medals in European Champion. In first he started in classes Techno 293 class and then the RS:X class, (including in a category age under 17 and under 21 years of age. He competed in the 2024 Olympics in the iQfoil class and came 10th.
The 470 European Championships are international sailing regattas in the 470 class, held annually since 1966. Non-European entries are allowed to take part since the 1972 edition, however they will not become European champions.
The Women's ILCA 6 World Championship, until 2020 the Women's Laser Radial World Championship, has been held every year since 1980, organised by the International Sailing Federation. Laser Radial is an Olympic sailing class. The event was held together with the Men's Laser Radial World Championships between 1989 and 2010.

The Soling European Championship is an International sailing regatta in the Soling organized by the International Soling Association under auspiciën of World Sailing. Over 50 Soling European Championship were held. The popularity grew during the Olympic period of the Soling. After that era the event continued and is still reasonable successful. The Soling European Championship is an "Open" event. This means that competitors from all over the world are eligible to enter.
Eilidh Jane McIntyre is a British former sailor, who won the gold medal alongside Hannah Mills in the 470 event at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She won the 2019 470 World Championships, and came second at the 2017 470 World Championships. She finished third at the 2015 470 European Championships, and second at the 2019 and 2021 events, as well as having won multiple Sailing World Cup medals. In 2022, McIntyre was awarded an MBE for services to yachting.
