Hong Kong Gold Coast is a private housing estate served by Castle Peak Road,near Castle Peak Bay,in So Kwun Wat,Tuen Mun,New Territories,Hong Kong. Developed by Sino Group, [1] it includes 20 residential buildings completed in two phases (in 1990 and 1993 respectively),a resort hotel,a shopping mall,a yacht and country club,a marina and a beach. The site of approximately 100 acres was purchased by Sino in the early 1980s. The first residential phase,comprising five 28-storey blocks,was completed in 1990. [5] The hotel opened in 1993.
The Environmental Protection Department fined Sino Estate Management several times for causing pollution,as the sewage treatment plant at Gold Coast was too small and could not treat the sewage generated to the required standard. The company received a fine of $15 million in March 1993,$5,000 in early 1994,and two fines of $100,000 in 1995. [6] [7]
Hong Kong Gold Coast is the largest tourist resort in Tuen Mun. Its facilities include the Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel,a convention centre,a shopping mall,a marina club,the Golden Beach and the newly constructed Hong Kong Gold Coast Dolphin Square.
The Golden Beach is the largest public beach in Tuen Mun and the first artificial beach in Hong Kong. Tropical trees,like coconut,and flowers of various species are planted on both sides of a 480-metre long promenade running parallel to it.
Gold Coast is in Primary One Admission (POA) School Net 71. Within the school net are multiple aided schools (operated independently but funded with government money);no government schools are in the school net. [8]
These school are actually only near the Gold Coast and are in So Kwun Wat.
Tower 9 of Gold Coast Phase II was put under lockdown between 6th &7th February 2021. [9]
Tuen Mun District is one of the 18 administrative districts of Hong Kong. As of 2021,it had a population of 506,879. Of these,64,000 are under the age of 18. Part of the district is the Tuen Mun New Town,which contains one of the largest residential areas in the New Territories.

As a result,speed limits have been enforced to 70–80 km/h (45–50 mph) due to geometric constraints.

Tuen Mun or Castle Peak is an area near the mouth of Tuen Mun River and Castle Peak Bay in the New Territories,Hong Kong. It was one of the earliest settlements in what is now Hong Kong and can be dated to the Neolithic period. In the more recent past,it was home to many Tanka fishermen who gathered at Castle Peak Bay. So Kwun Wat,commonly pronounced So Kwun Fat,is an area on the south coast of the western mainland New Territories in Hong Kong. The hotel is a part of Hong Kong Gold Coast,which was developed by Sino Group and completed in 1993,offering a total of 453 guest rooms. Besides the hotel,the area includes a yacht club,country club,marina,shopping mall and residential buildings.
Sam Shing Estate is a public housing estate in Tuen Mun,New Territories,Hong Kong,near Light Rail Sam Shing stop and Castle Peak Beach. Built on the reclaimed land of Castle Peak Bay,it is the third public housing estate in Tuen Mun and the estate consists of 3 residential blocks completed in 1980. It was named for nearby Sam Shing Hui,a fishing village in the district,and most of the residents in the estate were fishermen.
Yau Oi Estate is a public housing estate in Tuen Mun,New Territories,Hong Kong near Light Rail Yau Oi stop. It was the third public housing estate built in Tuen Mun between 1980 and 1981 on reclaimed land of Castle Peak Bay. Consisting of 11 residential blocks,it was the largest single subsidized housing development in Hong Kong,with 9,153 units and a population of more than 35,000.
Kin Sang Estate is a public housing estate in Tuen Mun,New Territories,Hong Kong. It is the eleventh public housing estate in Tuen Mun,located near Light Rail Kin Sang stop,Ching Chung Koon and Castle Peak Hospital. It consists of four residential buildings completed in 1989. In 1998,some of the flats were sold under Tenants Purchase Scheme Phase 1.
Tin King Estate is a public housing estate in Tuen Mun,New Territories,Hong Kong. It is the tenth public housing estate in Tuen Mun,located near Light Rail Tin King stop,Leung King stop and San Wai stop. It consists of four residential buildings completed in 1989. The estate was formerly the site of Leung Tin Village and it was named from the village,together with the nearby Leung King Estate. Some of the flats were sold under Tenants Purchase Scheme Phase 2 in 1999.
