The district is made up of Dodgeville's old downtown, including the 1859 Greek Revival Iowa County Courthouse, the 1888 Italianate-styled Ford hardware store, [3] the 1901 Queen Anne Auditorium (opera house), [4] the 1919 Neoclassical-styled First National Bank, [5] the 1922 Commercial Craftsman Pollard harness shop, [6] and the 1940 Art Deco Commonwealth Telephone Company. The Iowa County Courthouse in Dodgeville, Wisconsin was built in 1859, with stonework by newly immigrated workmen from Cornwall, England. It is a two-story Greek Revival temple-style building made of buff-colored local Galena limestone.
