Jordan Matthew Cox (born 21 October 2000) is an English professional cricketer. [2] He signed his first professional contract with Kent County Cricket Club in October 2018,having joined the county club at age 10,played for them at age-group levels and been a member of the club's academy programme,winning the John Aitken Gray award as the best academy scholar in 2018. [3] [4]
Cox has played for the England under-19 cricket team,including at the 2020 under-19 World Cup. Along with Jack Leaning he set a new highest partnership for any wicket for Kent in 2020,scoring 238 not out in an unbroken partnership of 423 runs against Sussex at Canterbury.
Cox was born at Margate in Kent [5] and educated at Wellesley House School and Felsted School. He first played for Kent's Second XI in 2017. [6] [7] [8] [9] He played for the London and East team in the ECB Super-4s developmental T20 competition in 2018 and was named player of the tournament. [4] In early 2019 he played for the England under-19 cricket team on their tour of Bangladesh. [8] [10] In club cricket he plays for Sandwich Town Cricket Club in the Kent Cricket League. [3]
After scoring a century in a 50-over Second XI friendly in April 2019 he made his List A cricket debut on 27 April 2019 against the touring Pakistanis,scoring 21 runs. [11] Following a series of good batting performances,including scoring two centuries,for the Second XI during the 2019 season,Cox made his first-class cricket debut in July against Hampshire and was called into the England under-19 squad for a series of matches against India and Bangladesh during August. [12] [13] He made his Twenty20 debut later the same month against Somerset in the 2019 t20 Blast. [14]
After finishing a tri-series of matches in December 2019 against West Indies and Sri Lanka under-19s as England under-19's leading run scorer, [15] Cox was named in England's squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in South Africa the following month. [16]
In August 2020,Cox scored his maiden century in first-class cricket against Sussex at Canterbury in the second round of matches of the 2020 Bob Willis Trophy. Cox went on to finish the innings unbeaten on 238 in a Kent record partnership for any wicket of 423 runs with Jack Leaning. [21] Cox was subsequently dropped for Kent's next match after having posed for photographs with young fans of the club,a breach of club medical protocols put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic. [21] [22] Later in the year Cox signed a contract extension with Kent,extending his contract until the end of the 2023 season. [23]
During the 2021 season,Cox was named Player of the Match as Kent won the 2021 T20 Blast final. He scored 58 not out from 28 balls in the final and his "incredible piece of fielding gymnastics" helped take the wicket of Somerset batsman Lewis Gregory,Cox palming the ball back from beyond the boundary to teammate Matt Milnes who was able to take the catch. [24] He was part of the Oval Invincibles squad for the 2021 season of The Hundred,having been selected in the Wildcard Draft in the run up to the start of the competition. [25] Although he did not play a match for the side during the season,he was retained for the 2022 season. [26] Cox holds an Australian passport and over the 2021/22 English off-season he played Sydney Grade Cricket for Mosman Cricket Club,having played for Eastern Suburbs the previous season. In December 2021 he was recruited by Big Bash League side Hobart Hurricanes as a replacement for the opening match of their 2021/22 season. [27] [28] In September 2022,Cox was one of five uncapped players named in the England squad for their seven-match Twenty20 International tour of Pakistan later in the same month. Darren Ian Stevens is an English former professional cricketer who played for Leicestershire and Kent County Cricket Clubs between 1997 and 2022. An all-rounder, he played as right-handed batsman and bowled right-arm medium-pace deliveries. He scored over 16,000 first-class runs and after the age of 35 took more than 500 wickets and more than 30 five-wicket hauls. Stevens was named as one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in the 2021 edition of the almanack.
The County Ground, Beckenham is a cricket ground in Beckenham in the London Borough of Bromley. The ground is owned by Leander Sports and Leisure and is used as an outground by Kent County Cricket Club for First XI fixtures, as well as for other matches. As of 2019 the Kent Women cricket team played the majority of their matches at the ground.

Samuel William Billings is an English professional cricketer. Billings is a right-handed batsman who fields as a wicket-keeper. He was born at Pembury in Kent and has played for Kent County Cricket Club sides since he was eight years old, making his senior debut for the First XI in 2011. In October 2017 he was appointed as the vice-captain of the team before being appointed as captain in January 2018, replacing Sam Northeast. He served as the club's captain until the end of the 2023 season when he resigned, although he retained the captaincy of the club's Twenty20 cricket side.
Thomas William Maxwell Latham is a New Zealand international cricketer who is the Test captain of New Zealand cricket team. He is the son of former cricketer Rod Latham. He has the most Test centuries for New Zealand opening batsmen. Latham was a member of the New Zealand team that won the 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship. He was also a part of the New Zealand squads to finish as runners-up in two Cricket World Cup finals in 2015 and 2019.
Jack Andrew Leaning is an English first-class cricketer. A right-handed batsman and right arm off-spin bowler, Leaning joined Kent County Cricket Club at the end of the 2019 season, having previously played all of his professional cricket for Yorkshire after making his professional debut in 2012.
In 2016, Kent County Cricket Club competed in Division Two of the County Championship, the Royal London One-Day Cup and the NatWest t20 Blast. The season was the fifth, and last, in charge for head coach Jimmy Adams and the first for new club captain Sam Northeast, who took over from Rob Key at the end of the 2015 season, having captained the side on the field for much of the season.
Oliver George Robinson is a professional cricketer who plays for Durham County Cricket Club. He plays as either a wicket-keeper or as a specialist batsman and made his debut for Kent in 2017.
Frederick Jack Klaassen is an English-born Dutch international cricketer who plays for Kent County Cricket Club. He made his List A debut for the Netherlands against Zimbabwe on 24 June 2017, having played club cricket in England and New Zealand.
In 2018, Kent County Cricket Club competed in Division Two of the County Championship, the Royal London One-Day Cup and the 2018 t20 Blast. The county finished second in Division Two of the Championship and were promoted to Division One for the 2019 season. They reached the final of the One-Day Cup. losing to Hampshire at Lord's, and the quarter-final stage of the t20 Blast. In addition, before the start of the English cricket season, Kent competed in the 2017–18 Regional Super50, the List A competition of the West Indies domestic season, reaching the semi-final stage. This was the second time that Kent have competed in the competition, having played in the 2016–17 competition.
In 2019 Kent County Cricket Club competed in Division One of the County Championship after gaining promotion in the 2018 season, the Royal London One-Day Cup and the 2019 t20 Blast.

The 2020 Bob Willis Trophy was a first-class cricket tournament held in the 2020 English cricket season, and the inaugural edition of the Bob Willis Trophy. It was separate from the County Championship, which was not held in 2020 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom. The eighteen county cricket teams were split into three regional groups of six, with the two group winners with the most points advancing to a final held at Lord's. The maximum number of overs bowled in a day was reduced from 96 to 90, and the team's first innings could be no longer than 120 overs.
In 2020 Kent County Cricket Club were scheduled to compete in Division One of the County Championship, the Royal London One-Day Cup and the 2020 t20 Blast. However, the season was heavily disrupted by the global COVID-19 pandemic, with no county cricket fixtures played until August. For the shortened season, the majority of counties voted on 7 July to play first-class and Twenty20 cricket, with the Royal London One-Day Cup being cancelled. Instead of the County Championship this year, the 18 first-class counties competed for the 2020 Bob Willis Trophy, which consisted of three regional groups of six teams and a final at Lord's.
In 2021 Kent County Cricket Club competed in the 2021 County Championship, the 2021 One-Day Cup and the 2021 T20 Blast. The season was the fifth in charge for head coach, and former player, Matthew Walker. Sam Billings retained the club captaincy that he was first awarded in 2018. Daniel Bell-Drummond was named as vice-captain, replacing Joe Denly. Jack Leaning was named as captain for the One-Day Cup.

Jaskaran Singh is an English cricketer. He made his first-class cricket debut for Kent County Cricket Club against Sussex on 11 July 2021 in the County Championship following a member of the county's First XI squad testing positive for COVID-19 which required the players involved in the county's previous match to all self-isolate. As a result, a number of Second XI players or "homegrown prospects" were drafted into the squad and made their senior debuts for the county. Singh took four top-order wickets in Sussex's first innings on debut, finishing with innings with four wickets at the cost of 51 runs (4/51) from 11 overs.
