KMCT College of Engineering (previously National Institute Technology and Science (NITS)) is an ISO 9001:2000 certified self-financing college affiliated to the University of Calicut , A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University located in Manassery, Kozhikode, Kerala, India. [1]

Formation

The college was founded by the KMCT (Kunhitharuvai Memorial Charitable Trust), based in Kozhikode in 2001. The KMCT is managed by the Managing Trustee-Founder Dr. K. Moidu. The trust also runs 14 educational institutions including KMCT Medical College, KMCT dental college, KMCT College and School of Nursing, KMCT Woman's Engineering College, KMCT School of Business, KMCT Ayurveda Medical College, and KMCT Polytechnic. Student organizations

The student organizations at KMCT include The VOICE Association(CS & IT Department), Royal Army (Mechanical Department ), The Industrial and Planning Forum (IPF), Phoenix (Engineering and Technology Club), Literary and Debating Club, The Forum for Dance and Dramatics, the Nature Club, Adventure Club (Ad-Club) and the Indian Cultural Association. Professional bodies with student chapters include the Computer Society of India, the Indian Society for Technical Education, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and The Institution of Engineers (India).

Entrepreneurship Development Cell

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) is a fully functioning student body registered under the Technology Business Incubator, Startup Village. The club provides a platform for students with ideas to convert them into business reality. The stated aim of EDC is to foster a student start-up culture in the institution. Club activities include seminars by world-renowned firms such as Blackberry, classes on the basics of the Stock Market, sponsorship activities, talks with prominent start up ventures and trips to events all over India like Hackathons and Entrepreneurship Conferences. The Entrepreneurship Development Cell, started in late 2013, already has 3 start-ups registered under it.

VOICE : Vision Of Intelligent Computer Engineers

VOICE is the association of Computer Science and Information Technology Engineering students of KMCT College of Engineering. The Association of Computer Science and Information Technology Department of the college have a prestigious working history inside the college. Initially the association was named as "VIRUS". From 31 October 2011 the association is renamed as "The VOICE", acronym of Vision Of Intelligent Computer Engineers.

The association is organized and will be operated exclusively for academical, technical improvement and cultural development of members in furtherance of a) promoting an increased knowledge of computer science and its applications in IT b) providing a means of communication between students thereby increase their soft skills.

KARMA

Karma is the annual national level techno-managerial-socio-cultural extravaganza of KMCT College of Engineering and KMCT School of Business. Born in 2013 with the motto of promoting technology, scientific thinking and innovation, Karma has created an unmatched aura of a science and technology spectacle at the campus of KMCT. Karma invites innovative minds to compete with each other, share ideas and educate people about new technological advancements and be a part of the tech platform

Google Student Ambassador Program

The Google Student Ambassador Program is an opportunity for students to act as liaisons between Google and their universities. Ambassadors are thrilled by new technology, enthusiastic about Google, and involved in their school communities. They have majors from Computer Science, to Anthropology, to Business, to Zoology! Google Ambassadors have the opportunity to enhance their professional development, leadership, and communication skills, and access to a unique network of Google Ambassadors across the world.

National Institute of Technology Calicut, formerly Regional Engineering College Calicut, is a public technical university and an institute of national importance governed by the NIT Act passed by the Parliament of India. Government Engineering College, Kozhikode (GECK), Kerala is an engineering institution under the Department of Technical Education in Kerala, India. Located in Westhill Kozhikode of the Malabar region rich in traditions. The Government Engineering College Kozhikode is one of the five Government Engineering Colleges given sanction in the year 1999. Admissions are based on the performance of students in the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Entrance test. The Government College of Engineering Karunagappally (CEK) is a public institute of engineering and technology in Karunagappally, in the north-west of Kollam district, Kerala, India. Established in 1999 by the Government of Kerala, it is the second engineering college in Kollam district the fourth engineering college under the aegis of the state government's Institute of Human Resources Development in Electronics. Government Engineering College, Trivandrum
