Keysville Railroad Station is a historic railway station located at Keysville, Charlotte County, Virginia. It was built by the Richmond and Danville Railroad in stages between 1890 and 1900, and is a one-story, vernacular frame railroad building. It contains offices and segregated waiting rooms at the north end and a large freight area extending to the south with docks on three sides. It remained in use as a passenger station until 1956. The Keysville Railroad Station appeared as the stations in Eastport, Maine, and in Warm Springs, Georgia, in the filming of Eleanor and Franklin , a television film about the Roosevelts that would earn 11 Emmy awards (1976). Richmond Main Street Station, officially the Main Street Station and Trainshed, is a historic railroad station and office building in Richmond, Virginia. It was built in 1901, and is served by Amtrak. It is also an intermodal station with Richmond's city transit bus services, which are performed by Greater Richmond Transit Company (GRTC). It is colloquially known by residents as The Clock Tower. It is a U.S. National Historic Landmark. Main Street Station serves as a secondary train station for Richmond providing limited Amtrak service directly to downtown Richmond. Several Amtrak trains serving the Richmond metropolitan area only stop at the area's primary rail station, Staples Mill Road which is located five miles to the north in Henrico County.
Broad Street Station was a union railroad station in Richmond, Virginia, United States, across Broad Street from the Fan district. The building is now used by the Science Museum of Virginia.
The Virginian Railway Passenger Station, also known as the Virginian Station is a former rail station listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the South Jefferson neighborhood of the independent city of Roanoke, Virginia, U.S.A. Located at the intersection of Jefferson Street SE and Williamson Road, the Virginian Station served as a passenger station for the Virginian Railway between 1910 and 1956. The station was the only station constructed with brick along the entire length of the Virginian's 608 miles (978 km) network. It was severely damaged by fire on January 29, 2001.
Staunton River Battlefield State Park is a state park located in Virginia. The park straddles the Staunton River in Halifax and Charlotte counties. The Roanoke visitor center in Randolph, Virginia is a railroad depot which now holds exhibits on Native Americans and railroad history. The Clover visitor center has exhibits on the American Civil War and the battle which took place on this site. It also includes information about the production of electric energy. The park also includes the Mulberry Hill plantation, given to the state in 1999.
The Exchange Hotel in Gordonsville, Virginia, was built in 1860 for Richard F. Omohundro next to an important railroad junction, when the Exchange Hotel offered a welcome stopping place for weary passengers on the Virginia Central Railroad.

The Maywood Historic District is a national historic district located in Arlington County, Virginia. It contains 198 contributing buildings in a residential neighborhood located in the northern part of the county. The area was platted and subdivided in five sections between 1909 and 1913 following the arrival in 1906 of the Great Falls and Old Dominion Railroad. The area was primarily developed between 1909 and 1929. The dwelling styles include a variety of architectural styles, including Queen Anne, Colonial Revival foursquares, Bungalow, and two-story gable-front houses. Several dwellings in the neighborhood have been identified as prefabricated mail-order houses.
Bristol station is a historic railroad station in Bristol, Virginia, USA, just north of the Tennessee state line. Built in 1902, the station was served by passenger trains until 1971. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Bristol Railroad Station in 1980.
Four Locust Farm, also known as Pettus Dairy Farm, is a historic home and farm complex located near Keysville, Charlotte County, Virginia. The property includes a vernacular farm house dwelling, built around 1859, and a row of 20th-century farm buildings. The house is a two-story, three-bay-wide, frame dwelling that is covered by a low-pitched, hipped roof of standing-seam metal, and clad with weatherboards. Farm buildings include frame and masonry dairy/hay barns, silos, a milk house, workshop, equipment sheds, cattle pens, and tenant houses. The farm produced tobacco from 1919 until 1925; beginning in 1925, the farm turned to dairy production with a 100-head Holstein-Friesian herd. In 1962, the farm ended its dairy operations and turned to beef cattle production. The farm is now owned and operated by Pettus's grandson, Zach Tucker.
Maple Roads is a historic plantation house located near Keysville, Charlotte County, Virginia. It was built in the early-19th century, and is a two-story, five-bay, brick dwelling in the Federal style. It is a single-pile I-house with a 1+1⁄2-story rear wing. Also on the property are a contributing 19th century one-room wood framed office with a steep standing seam metal gable roof, a simple early-20th century wood frame barn, and a family cemetery.
Watkins House, also known as Shoo-Crymes Place, Crymes Place, and Bonis Est Farm, is a historic farmhouse located near Keysville, Charlotte County, Virginia. It was built c1830, and is a two-story, three bay, frame I-house in a transitional Federal / Greek Revival style. It has a rear wing and features a pair of tall hexagonal brick chimney stacks. Also on the property are a contributing a tobacco barn, a wagon shed / granary, an equipment or storage building, a hay barn / stable, and a chicken coop.
Beach Station a national historic district located near Chesterfield, in Chesterfield County, Virginia. The district includes six contributing buildings and one contributing site in the Village of Beach. They were all constructed about 1890 and are two single-family dwellings, a post office, a railway depot, an outbuilding, two railroad shanties, and the ruins of the former general store. Beach Station was accessible from the Farmville and Powhatan Railroad later named the Tidewater and Western Railroad. Leasing arrangements had been made with the Brighthope Railway company which was sold to become the Farmville and Powhatan. The district represents an unusual collection of late-nineteenth-century buildings in their historic surroundings. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.
Greenway Historic District is a national historic district located near Boyce, Clarke County, Virginia. It encompasses 432 contributing buildings, 23 contributing sites, and 35 contributing structures. The districts includes the agricultural landscape and architectural resources of an area distinctively rural that contains numerous large antebellum estates. The district contributing buildings are primarily farm and estate residences and their associated outbuildings. Other contributing buildings include three schools, five churches, two mills, a gas station, a restaurant, and a railroad station. The contributing structures are mostly corncribs and the contributing sites are mainly cemeteries and ruins of historic buildings. The district contains ten individual properties and two historic districts already listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register and National Register of Historic Places.
St. Mary's Church is a historic Catholic church in the eastern United States, at Fairfax Station, Virginia, a suburb southwest of Washington, D.C. Built 165 years ago in 1858, it is a rectangular, one-story, gable-front, frame structure in the Gothic Revival style. It has a steeple at the entrance and a large Gothic arched window over the entrance door. St. Mary's was the first Catholic church built within Fairfax County, and its early parishioners were primarily Irish immigrants employed by the Orange and Alexandria Railroad.
Purcellville Train Station is a historic railway station located in Purcellville, Loudoun County, Virginia. The station is adjacent to the Washington and Old Dominion Railroad Trail. The Southern Railway constructed the station in 1904. The station is a one-story, rectangular frame building with a hipped roof and deeply overhanging eaves supported by triangular knee braces. It was a station on the Washington and Old Dominion Railway and later, the Washington and Old Dominion Railroad from 1912 until the line closed in 1968, with passenger service ceasing in 1951.
The Luray Norfolk and Western Passenger Station is a historic train station located in Luray, Virginia, United States. The Shenandoah Valley Railroad reached Luray in 1881 and constructed a station near where the present station is located. Shortly after the Norfolk and Western Railway absorbed the Shenandoah Valley Railroad in 1890, plans arose to construct a new station in Luray. This station, which still stands, was constructed in 1906 and was designed by the railroad's Chief Engineer, Charles S. Churchill. The structure was partially destroyed by fire in 1908 when it was struck by lightning; however, it was soon thereafter reconstructed according to the original design. The station is a one-story brick structure featuring a hip roof. The building was converted to freight use around 1960 and was sold to the town of Luray by the Norfolk and Western's successor, the Norfolk Southern Railway, in 1999.
Strasburg Stone and Earthenware Manufacturing Company, also known as the Strasburg Museum, Steam Pottery, and Southern Railroad Station, is a historic factory building located at Strasburg, Shenandoah County, Virginia. It was built in 1891, and is a two-story, 10 bay brick building originally constructed for the Strasburg Stone and Earthenware Manufacturing Company to make earthenware. It was converted to railroad use in 1913, at which time a one-story pent roof was added. The building is covered with a slate-clad hipped roof surmounted by a hipped monitor. The building served as a station and depot for the Southern Railroad.
Belfield–Emporia Historic District, also known as North Emporia, is a national historic district located at Emporia, Virginia. The district includes 41 contributing buildings in the Belfield section of Emporia. In 1887, the neighboring towns of Hicksford and Belfield merged to form the town of Emporia. The district generally consists of late-19th- to early-20th-century brick buildings laid out in a "T"-shape at the intersection of Halifax and Baker Streets. Notable buildings include the Hotel Virginia, the Bethlehem Building or former First National Bank of Emporia (1907), Petersburg and Danville Railroad passenger station, and Pair's Furniture. Located in the district is the separately listed H. T. Klugel Architectural Sheet Metal Work Building.
Wharf Area Historic District is a national historic district located at Staunton, Virginia. The district encompasses 22 contributing buildings and 4 contributing structures. It is a warehouse and commercial district characterized by rows of late-19th century and early-20th century storefronts and an elongated plaza framed by small warehouses. The buildings are characteristically two- and three-story, brick structures in a variety of popular architectural styles including Greek Revival, Federal, and Queen Anne. Notable buildings and structures include the Railroad Water Tower, American Hotel, John Burns Building (1874), Erskine Building (1904), and Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad Station (1902).
