The Lakeport Carnegie Library is a Carnegie library located near the shore of Clear Lake in Lakeport, California.
Completed in 1918 in the Classical Revival type of architecture, it had been given an $8000 grant for its construction after local organizations like the Ladies' Improvement Club lobbied philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. [2] The plans were drawn by Ward and Blohme and it was built by Hinds and Randolph. By December 1920 there were 4793 books in the library. [3] In 1985 the library outgrew the building and moved to another location. The building was temporarily vacant, but now houses scientists from UC Davis who are conducting research on Clear Lake. [2]

The population was 1,052 at the 2010 census, up from 989 at the 2000 census. The Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake are headquartered here.
Laconia is a city in Belknap County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 16,871 at the 2020 census, up from 15,951 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Belknap County. Laconia, situated between Lake Winnipesaukee and Lake Winnisquam, includes the villages of Lakeport and Weirs Beach. Each June, the city hosts Laconia Motorcycle Week, also more simply known as "Bike Week", one of the country's largest rallies.
Clear Lake is a natural freshwater lake in Lake County in the U.S. state of California, north of Napa County and San Francisco. It is the largest natural freshwater lake wholly within the state, with 68 square miles (180 km2) of surface area. At an age of 2.5 million years, it is the oldest lake in North America. It is the latest lake to occupy a site with a history of lakes stretching back at least 2,500,000 years.
The Old Lake County Courthouse, also known as Lake County Courthouse, in Lakeport, California is a building built in 1870. It served Lake County as a seat of government from 1871 until 1968. Precedent-setting trials on water rights were held here, along with the "White Cap" murder trial, a notorious episode in vigilantism held here in 1890. The brick courthouse, constructed by A.P. Pettit in 1870–1871, was one of the few buildings in the vicinity to survive the 1906 San Francisco earthquake with only minor damage. It is now California Historical Landmark #897 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NPS-70000134). The county schools library was located in the basement until at least 1968. It is surrounded by a Lakeport City Park.
State Route 281 is an approximately 3-mile (4.8 km) state highway in the U.S. state of California that runs along Soda Bay Road from near the southern shore of Clear Lake to State Route 29 in Glenview in Lake County. SR 281 is legislatively defined to be a loop route of SR 29 that runs along or near the southern edge of Clear Lake from Glenview to Lakeport, but most of this is unconstructed.
The Big Valley Band of Pomo Indians of the Big Valley Rancheria is a federally recognized tribe of Pomo and Pit River Indians, with a reservation located in Lake County, California, near the town of Finley. They conduct tribal business from Lakeport, California.
Mendocino College is a public community college in Ukiah, California. Mendocino College was founded in 1973. The main campus is located on 127 acres (0.51 km2) of hilltop land north of downtown Ukiah in the Ukiah valley. Currently there are about 4,000 students, 55 full-time faculty, and 200 adjunct faculty members. Three branches of the college exist, in Lakeport, Willits, and Fort Bragg
The Salt Lake City Public Library system is a network of public libraries funded by Salt Lake City. The Free Public Library of Salt Lake City first opened on February 14, 1898. The system is under the direction of a library board and circulates more than three million items each year.
The Carnegie Art Museum is a public art museum owned by the City of Oxnard, California in the building originally occupied by the Oxnard Public Library. The Neo-Classical building, located adjacent to Oxnard's Plaza Park, opened in 1907 as the Oxnard Public Library and was converted into an art museum in 1986. In July 1971, it became the first building in Ventura County and the first Carnegie library in California to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Escanaba Public Library was a Carnegie library located at 201 South Seventh Street in Escanaba, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977 and designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1976.
Clear Lake High School (CLHS) is a public high school located in Lakeport, California. Is the only comprehensive high school in the Lakeport Unified School District. Situated on the shore of Clear Lake, it is the oldest school in Lake County. It was named a California Distinguished School in 2011.
The Ossian Wilbur Goss Reading Room is a historic library building at 188 Elm Street in the Lakeport section of Laconia, New Hampshire. The architecturally eclectic single-story brick building was designed by Boston architect Willard P. Adden and built in 1905-06 after the collection of the former Lakeport library was moved to the recently built Gale Memorial Library in the center of Laconia. Its construction was funded by a bequest from Ossian Wilbur Goss, a local doctor who had died without natural heirs. The building officially became a branch of the Laconia library system in 1909, and continues to be administered in part by trustees of Goss's legacy. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
The Carnegie Library at Livermore, California, opened in 1911 and continued in use as a library until 1966. It now hosts a historical museum and art gallery. The building was designed by William H. Weeks in the Greek Revival style and is included on the National Register of Historic Places. A weekly farmers' market takes place in the surrounding park.
Scotts Creek is a stream in Lake County, California, the largest tributary of Clear Lake. It rises to the south of Cow Mountain in the Mayacamas Mountains, then flows southeast towards Clear Lake, running through the fertile Scotts Valley and the seasonal Tule Lake before joining Middle Creek and flowing into the lake via Rodman Slough.
