Sahitya Akademi Award to Gujarati Writers by Sahitya Akademi. No Awards were conferred in 1957, 1959, 1966 and 1972. [1] In 1969, Swami Anand, in 1983, Suresh Joshi, and in 2009 Shirish Panchal [2] refused this award.

The Jnanpith Award is the oldest and the highest Indian literary award presented annually by the Bharatiya Jnanpith to an author for their "outstanding contribution towards literature". Instituted in 1961, the award is bestowed only on Indian writers writing in Indian languages included in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India and English, with no posthumous conferral.

Ganesh N. Devy is an Indian literary critic and former professor. He is known for the People's Linguistic Survey of India and the Adivasi Academy created by him. <span class="mw-page-title-main">Gujarat Sahitya Akademi</span> Gujrati language authority in India

The Gujarat Sahitya Akademi or Gujarat Sahitya Academy, established in 1981, is a government institution dedicated to the development of the languages spoken in Gujarat, India and their literature. Gujarati, an official language of Gujarat, is one of them; the others are Hindi, Sanskrit, Kutchi, Sindhi and Urdu. As of 2022, Bhagyesh Jha is the chairman of the Akademi.

Kerala Sahitya Akademi Fellowship is an honour of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi, given to writers of Malayalam literature by inducting them as the distinguished members of the Akademi.
