This is a list of foreign players in the Indian Super League , which commenced play in 2014. [1] The following players must meet both of the following criteria:

  1. Have played in at least one Indian Super League game (including finals). Players who were signed by Indian Super League clubs, but only played in cup and/or continental games, or did not play in any competitive games at all, are not included.
  2. Are considered foreign, i.e., outside India determined by the following:
A player is considered foreign if he is not eligible to play for the national team of India.

More specifically,

As of now, 91 FIFA-affiliated nations have been represented in the Indian Super League. Jordan is the most recent to be represented with Hijazi Maher debuting for East Bengal on 4 November 2023.

The 2019–20 Indian Super League season was the sixth season of the Indian Super League, one of the top Indian professional football leagues. The regular season began on 20 October 2019 and concluded on 14 March 2020.

The 2019–20 Odisha FC season was the club's inaugural season since its establishment in August 2019. On 31 August 2019, Delhi Soccer Private Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Odisha, to re-brand Delhi Dynamos FC as Odisha FC and shift the home base from the national capital New Delhi to Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The new home for the team was decided to be the Kalinga Stadium at Bhubaneswar.

The 2020–21 ATK Mohun Bagan FC season was the club's 1st season in Indian Super League and 131st season since its establishment in 1889. The club under a merged company competed in ISL, one of the top flights of Indian football, as well as in the AFC Cup.

The 2020–21 Mumbai City FC season was the seventh season in the history of Indian Super League club Mumbai City. After failing to qualify for the playoffs the previous season, head coach Jorge Costa was relieved of his duties and replaced by Goa head coach Sergio Lobera.

The 2020–21 NorthEast United FC season was the club's seventh season since its establishment in 2014 and their seventh season in the Indian Super League.

The 2020–21 season was the fourth season of competitive football played by Jamshedpur.

The 2021–22 season is the club's fifth season since its establishment in 2017, and their fifth season in the Indian Super League.

The 2022–23 ATK Mohun Bagan FC season was the club's 3rd season in Indian Super League and 133rd season since its establishment in 1889. Due to lengthened schedule of 2022 AFC Cup, the knockout stage is moved to 2022–23 season from 2021–22 season as it is to be played in September 2022. Club also took part in 2022 Durand Cup and 2023 Indian Super Cup. The principle team owner, Sanjeev Goenka, announced after winning the 2023 Indian Super League Final that ATK Mohun Bagan will be rebranded as Mohun Bagan Super Giant from the next season.

The 2022–23 Chennaiyin season is the club's Ninth season since its establishment in 2014 as well as their Ninth season in 2022–23 Indian Super League season.In addition to the league, they will also compete in the 2022 Durand Cup and AIFF Super Cup.

The 2022 IndianOil Durand Cup group stage was played from 16 August to 5 September 2022. A total of 20 teams, consisting 11 ISL clubs, 5 I-League clubs and 4 Indian Armed Forces teams, competed in the group stage to decide the 8 places in the knockout stage.
