The president of Galmudug is the head of state and head of government of Galmudug, a federated state of the Federal Republic of Somalia. The president and vice president are elected for a four-year term, and can serve two consecutive terms. [1] [2] [3]

Mohamed Warsame Ali "Kiimiko" was the founder and the first president of Galmudug state, elected on 14 August 2006, when Galmudug state was established. Ali was a Somali politician and diplomat. He has occupied various diplomatic posts in Somalia since independence in 1960, including Somali Ambassador to the United States in 1980.

Ahmed Moallim Fiqi is a politician from Somalia currently serving as foreign minister. Formerly a member of the Islamic Courts Union, Fiqi is currently a member of the Somali Federal Parliament. From May 2011 to March 2013, he served as Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA). After resigning from the position, he was provisionally replaced by Abdikarin Dahir.

He is from Tayo party. He hails from Abudwak which is a town in the central Galgaduud province of Somalia.
