Lynnville is a city in Jasper County, Iowa, United States. The population was 380 at the time of the 2020 census. [2]
Lynnville was laid out in 1856. [3] The town was named for a linden grove near the original town site. [4] Lynnville was incorporated in 1875. [5]

As of the census of 2020, [9] there were 380 people, 160 households, and 116 families residing in the city. The population density was 345.9 inhabitants per square mile (133.5/km2). There were 168 housing units at an average density of 152.9 per square mile (59.0/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 97.6% White, 0.0% Black or African American, 0.0% Native American, 0.0% Asian, 0.0% Pacific Islander, 0.0% from other races and 2.4% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino persons of any race comprised 1.6% of the population.
Of the 160 households, 25.0% of which had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.5% were married couples living together, 3.8% were cohabitating couples, 18.8% had a female householder with no spouse or partner present and 15.0% had a male householder with no spouse or partner present. 27.5% of all households were non-families. 23.8% of all households were made up of individuals, 14.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years old or older.
The median age in the city was 45.1 years. 25.0% of the residents were under the age of 20; 2.6% were between the ages of 20 and 24; 22.1% were from 25 and 44; 32.9% were from 45 and 64; and 17.4% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 51.8% male and 48.2% female.
