A shopping mall is a large indoor shopping center, usually anchored by department stores. The term "mall" originally meant a pedestrian promenade with shops along it, but in the late 1960s, it began to be used as a generic term for the large enclosed shopping centers that were becoming commonplace at the time. In the U.K., such complexes are considered shopping centres, though "shopping center" covers many more sizes and types of centers than the North American "mall". Other countries may follow U.S. usage while still others follow U.K. usage. In Canadian English, and often in Australia and New Zealand, the term 'mall' may be used informally but 'shopping centre' or merely 'centre' will feature in the name of the complex. The term 'mall' is less-commonly a part of the name of the complex.
Dubailand was an entertainment complex planned to be built in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which was owned by Tatweer. When announced in 2003 it was one of the most ambitious leisure developments ever proposed anywhere in the world costing $64.3 billion, but development has been severely impacted by global recession and Dubai's financial crisis. The development was put on hold in 2008, due to the financial crisis of 2007-2008, but resumed in mid-2013. Updates in 2013 showed that $55 billion had been raised towards the works.

Monmouth Mall is an enclosed split level shopping center in Eatontown, New Jersey located on the corner of the intersection of NJ 35, NJ 36, and Wyckoff Road. It is owned Kushner Companies and managed by Westminster Management. The mall has a gross leasable area of 1,500,000 sq ft (140,000 m2), making it the sixth largest shopping mall in New Jersey, with approximately 79 shops. The mall is located near the Garden State Parkway at exit 105 and NJ 18 near the former location of the Eatontown Circle. As of April 2015, its anchors are Boscov's and Macy's. As of August 2023, Monmouth Mall is in the final planning stages of an enhanced development to convert the property into an open air retail location that will feature additional retail, office, and residential units.
Bridgewater Commons is a fully enclosed shopping mall located in Bridgewater Township, New Jersey. The mall is located at the intersection of Route 22 and Route 202/206 and borders I-287. The mall opened on February 26, 1988 and has a gross leasable area of 900,000 sq ft (84,000 m2).
DLF Cyber City is a Commercial Office Space in Gurugram, Haryana, India, which was opened in 2003. The area is home to several top IT and Fortune 500 company offices. Select CITYWALK is a shopping centre located in the Saket District Centre Sector-6, Pushp Vihar, New Delhi. The mall has a built-up area of 1,300,000 sq ft (120,000 m2), with 600,000 sq ft (56,000 m2) of retail space. The mall is spread over 6 acres (24,000 m2) and includes a 4 km long multiplex, serviced apartments, offices and public spaces. The mall was developed by Select Infrastructure, a joint venture between the Select group and the Aarone Group. It was opened to the public in October 2007.

LuLu Mall, Kochi is a shopping mall located in Edappally, Kochi, Kerala. Spanning 17 acres (6.9 ha), it is one of the largest malls in India with a total built up area of the project is 1,850,000 sq ft (172,000 m2) including convention center and hotel. The total area of mall is 731,950 sq ft (68,000 m2). It contains nearly 300 outlets, including food courts, restaurants, family entertainment zones, a multiplex, ice skating rink, gaming arena, beauty parlors, a toy train joy ride and bowling alley. The Grand Venice Mall, also known as TGV Mall, is an Italian-themed shopping mall in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. It covers 947,000 square feet and was opened in 2015. It is decorated with replicas of Roman statues and Venetian buildings, and has two canals with gondola rides for visitors.
