Anne Arundel County, also notated as AA or A.A. County, is a county located in the U.S. state of Maryland. Frederick County is located in the northern part of the U.S. state of Maryland. As of the 2010 U.S. Census, the population was 240,336. The county seat is Frederick.
Steven R. Schuh was the County Executive of Anne Arundel County, Maryland, and a former member of the Maryland House of Delegates, serving two terms in the Maryland General Assembly representing District 31. Schuh was elected County Executive in 2014 after defeating incumbent Laura Neuman in the Republican primary and defeating former three-term Sheriff George Johnson in the General Election. He is the ninth Anne Arundel County Executive. He was defeated in his bid for re-election in 2018 by Steuart Pittman.
The Maryland House of Delegates is the lower house of the legislature of the State of Maryland. It consists of 141 delegates elected from 47 districts. The House of Delegates Chamber is in the Maryland State House on State Circle in Annapolis, the state capital. The State House also houses the Maryland State Senate Chamber and the offices of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor of the State of Maryland. Each delegate has offices in Annapolis, in the nearby Casper R. Taylor Jr. House Office Building.
Dodon, is a 550-acre (2.2 km2) farm and former tobacco plantation in Maryland, located near the South River about 10 miles (16 km) south west of Annapolis. Purchased in 1747 by the planter and politician Dr George H. Steuart, it remains the home of Steuart's descendants to this day. Steuart grew wealthy during the colonial era thanks to proprietarial patronage, but his family's prosperity and status would be much reduced by the American Revolution and later by the American Civil War.

Incumbent Baltimore County Executive Kevin B. Kamenetz is prevented from seeking a third term due to term limits, creating an open seat. Kamenetz passed away on May 10, 2018, making County Administrative Officer Fred Homan acting County Executive. Homan is not running for election.
The Baltimore County Executive is the highest elected official representing the Government of Baltimore County, Maryland, United States. The Democratic Party result was in dispute and runner-up Jim Brochin has requested a recount, which commenced on July 12, 2018. On election night, Olszewski finished ahead of Brochin by 350 votes. After absentee ballots were counted, Olszewski finished ahead of Brochin by 9 votes, out of roughly 84,500 cast. Vicki Almond finished third by roughly 1,000 votes. Olszewski ended up winning the recount by 17 votes.
