Cooper County is located in the central portion of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2020 United States census, the population was 17,103. Its county seat is Boonville. The county was organized December 17, 1818, and named for Sarshell Cooper, a frontier settler who was killed by Native Americans near Arrow Rock in 1814. It is a part of the Columbia, Missouri metropolitan area.

Raritan Landing is a historical unincorporated community located within Piscataway Township in Middlesex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, which was once an inland port, the farthest upstream point ocean-going ships could reach along the Raritan River, across from New Brunswick. Begun in the early 18th century it remained vital until the mid 19th century, when most of the port was abandoned.

Pottersville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) split between Bedminster Township in Somerset County and Tewksbury Township in Hunterdon County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The area is served as United States Postal Service ZIP Code 07979. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population for ZIP Code Tabulation Area 07979 was 589. In 1990, most of the village was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Pottersville Village Historic District.
Fort Clark Trading Post State Historic Site was once the home to a Mandan and later an Arikara settlement. Over the course of its history it also had two factories. Today only archeological remains survive at the site located eight miles west of Washburn, North Dakota, United States.

Lamine or La Mine is an unincorporated community in Lamine Township, Cooper County, Missouri, United States.
New Lebanon is an unincorporated community in Cooper County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The community is on Missouri Route A between Otterville seven miles to the south and Pilot Grove seven miles to the north. The Lamine River flows past about two miles west of the community.
The Glenwood Archeological District is a nationally recognized historic district and archaeological sites located near Glenwood, Iowa, United States. It is one of nine sites from the Nebraska Phase of the Woodland period recognized by archaeologists, and the only one located east of the Missouri River. The district is made up of earth lodge sites, mortuary sites and artifact scatters from the Glenwood culture. They date from sometime between 1250 and 1400 C.E. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.
Kimball Village is an archaeological site located in the vicinity of Westfield, Iowa, United States. It is one of six known Big Sioux phase villages from the Middle Missouri tradition that existed between 1100-1250 C.E. The site, located on a terrace overlooking the Big Sioux River, has well-preserved features, including earth lodge and storage pits, and evidence of fortifaction. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, and as a National Historic Landmark in 2016.
Imhoff Archeological Site, also known as Site 23CP7, is a historic archaeological site located near Blackwater, Cooper County, Missouri. It is a Middle Woodland Period village site situated on a terrace in the Lamine River locality of the Missouri River Valley. The pottery and stone tools from the site belong to the technological/artistic tradition that is described as "Hopewell." The site was discovered by J. Mett Shippee in the 1930s. Marvin Kay surveyed the site and conducted very limited testing during 1971. No radiocarbon dates are available for the site. A sample of obsidian from the Imhoff site, in the George C. Nicholas collection, has been analyzed using Neutron Activation Analysis. The obsidian from the Imhoff site can be traced to the obsidian cliff in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming.
The Medicine Creek Archeological District, near Lower Brule, South Dakota, is an archeological district which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It includes 1,271 acres (5.14 km2) of land in Hughes and Lyman counties.
