Mensahe TV (lit. Message TV) is an [1] Islam-focused television channel in the Philippines. It is run by the [2] Mercy Islamic Foundation and has been aired on [3] Cignal cable, Channel 184, and Sky Cable; with its studios and offices based in [4] Davao City. It also provides content via mobile applications, social media, and on their website.

Contents

As of 2018, Mensahe TV has ceased airing on Cignal cable, but can still be viewed via [5] social media and on-air thru PTV Channel 4.

History

Mensahe TV first entered media broadcast thru AM radio. Mensahe TV worked with RPN and Radio Ukay Davao on a series of radio programs in 2016.

In 2017, Mensahe TV merged with Mercy Online Islamic Channel and took directors Brandon Gorospe and Ralph Jasper Jose of Studio One Productions [6] for a new scheme of operations; this merger made Mensahe TV as the new International standard for Suni [7] Islam. Mensahe TV then set up a division, this is to incorporate films as Mensahe TV and recorded content (tasjil) for Mercy Islamic Foundation. Salipada Datumanong as managing director funded the renovation of the new studio at Davao city giving way to new programs such as Tara! Sabay Tayo and Aqeedah.

Aksyon TV was a Philippine free-to-air television network. It was a joint venture of Nation Broadcasting Corporation and TV5 Network, Inc., both under PLDT media arm MediaQuest Holdings. Its programs were primarily produced by TV5's divisions News5 and ESPN5. AksyonTV formerly broadcasts terrestrially through DWNB-TV in Metro Manila, as well as on UHF channel 29 in Cebu, Davao and other relay stations, and on a digital subchannel via channel 5.2 in Metro Manila. It occupies the frequency previously used by MTV Philippines, a subsidiary of MTV Networks Asia Pacific until 2006.

Sky Direct was a direct-broadcast satellite subscription television service in the Philippines owned and operated by Sky, a subsidiary of ABS-CBN. Sky Cable had been eyeing for a DBS service and considered on acquiring Dream Satellite TV from Antonio O. Cojuangco, Jr. The acquisition of Dream was reported to have reached an advanced stage but for some undisclosed reasons, the deal was not sealed. Sky's entry to the DBS market was hindered by various oppositions from the industry, citing legal issues and the slow growth of the pay TV market in the country. On December 23, 2015, Sky was granted by the NTC a provisional authority to operate and maintain a DBS service in 251 cities and municipalities in the country for a period of 18 months. Sky Direct offered both prepaid and postpaid packages with exclusive channels from ABS-CBN and Creative Programs such as ABS-CBN HD, ABS-CBN News Channel, ABS-CBN Sports+Action HD, Cinema One, Jeepney TV, Metro Channel, Liga, and Myx. As of March 2019, Sky Direct had over 1 million subscribers.

Salaam TV is a Philippine government-owned Islamic channel owned by the Presidential Communications Operations Office through the People's Television Network (PTV). The channel's main programming is solely focused on Filipino Muslims and other Islamic communities in the country. At present, the channel is on test broadcast via digital terrestrial television on PTV's digital subchannel and Expand to cable television on SkyCable and Destiny Cable Channel 4 depending on the digital boxes' channel availability from 12 noon to 8:00 p.m. Salaam TV is also the second Islamic television network based in the Philippines, following the launch of Davao-based Islamic cable channel Mensahe TV.

One News is a 24-hour Philippine pay television and news channel owned by MediaQuest Holdings through its subsidiary Cignal TV. It was launched in May 2018 exclusively on satellite provider Cignal. One News is the first MediaQuest channel launched under the One branding, along with the free TV sports channel One Sports, cable sports channel One Sports+, Filipino-language news channel One PH, lifestyle portal One Life, and now-defunct premium entertainment channel One Screen.

One Sports is a Philippine Free-to-air television network owned by Nation Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) a sister networks of TV5 Network, Inc. and Cignal TV, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of MediaQuest Holdings, Inc. media arm of PLDT Beneficial Trust Fund. One Sports is currently carried through analog DWNB UHF TV Channel 41 in Metro Manila, other relay owned and affiliate stations, and digital terrestrial subchannel nationwide.
