The Moscow Challenge was a track and field competition at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, Russia as part of the IAAF World Challenge Meetings. The first edition took place in 2011 and it was last organized in 2014. [1]

The 10th World Championships in Athletics, under the auspices of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), were held in the Olympic Stadium, Helsinki, Finland, the site of the first IAAF World Championships in 1983. One theme of the 2005 championships was paralympic events, some of which were included as exhibition events. Much of the event was played in extremely heavy rainfall.

The Internationales Stadionfest (ISTAF) is an annual track and field athletics meeting at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, Germany. It was first held in July 1921 at the Deutsches Stadion, which was replaced from 1937 by the Stadium of the 1936 Olympic Games. Since 2006 ISTAF has been sponsored by DKB and officially known as the DKB-ISTAF and from 2010, had been part of the IAAF World Challenge, the second tier of global one day athletics events. Nowadays, the meeting is a part of the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver tier, the third ranked tier.

The 3000 metres steeplechase or 3000-meter steeplechase is the most common distance for the steeplechase in track and field. It is an obstacle race over the distance of the 3000 metres, which derives its name from the horse racing steeplechase.

The IAAF U18 Championships in Athletics was a global athletics event comprising track and field events for competitors who were 17 or younger. The event was organized by International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). It was held biennially from 1999 to 2017.

Mariya Ryemyen is a Ukrainian sprint athlete who specializes in the 100 metres. Ryemyen was part of the Ukrainian women's 4 × 100 m that won gold during the 2010 European Athletics with 42.29 – the fastest time in the world that year.

The Meeting International Mohammed VI d'Athlétisme de Rabat is an annual track and field competition at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, Morocco as part of the IAAF World Challenge Meetings. It was first organized in 2008, and in 2014 and 2024 it was instead held in Stade de Marrakech in Marrakech. Its name honours Mohammed VI of Morocco, the present king of Morocco. In 2016 the meeting replaces Adidas Grand Prix in New York for the 2016 IAAF Diamond League season.

The Russian Winter Meeting is an annual indoor track and field competition which is held at the Kutz Arena within the CSKA Universal Sports Hall in Moscow, Russia, every February. The event is part of the annual IAAF Indoor Permit Meeting series.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Dmitry Tarabin</span> Russian javelin thrower

Dmitriy Sergeyev Tarabin is a Russian track and field athlete who competes in the javelin throw. His personal best for the event is 88.84 m. He was the winner of the javelin at Summer Universiade and the Russian Championships in 2013. Tarabin previously competed for Moldova and remains the country's national record holder.

Daniil Aleksandrovich Tsyplakov is a Russian track and field athlete who competes in the high jump.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Jairus Birech</span> Kenyan steeplechase runner (born 1992)

Jairus Kipchoge Birech is a Kenyan steeplechase runner. He holds a personal best time of 7:58.41 minutes for the 3000 metres steeplechase, which ranks him among the top ten of all time. He was the gold medallist at the 2014 African Championships in Athletics and silver medallist at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The Russian Athletics Federation (RAF), previously named the All-Russia Athletic Federation, is the governing body for the sport of athletics in Russia. Its president is Dmitry Shlyakhtin.
