Oboama Ezinihitte Mbaise is an ancient ancestral town of the Ezinihitte Mbaise people of Imo State, South East of Nigeria. [1] Ezinihitte ancient history believed that the world was created around Orie Ukwu the Market Square located at Oboama. The Following towns make up the communities in Ezinihitte (Oboama, Umunama, Ife na Owutu, Akpoku na Umudim, Ihitte, Umuchoko na Umueze, Eziagbogu, Okpuofe, Amaumara, Itu, Eziudo, Onicha, Udo na Obizi).

Oboama is made up eleven Villages Namely: Umuekwere, Umuohii, Umuatum (making up Amato), Umuogwogwo, Umuosehi, Umuodoko, Umuozuzu, Ogbor (making up Umuasha), Nru, Umunehi and Umualika (making Up Umueze).

The current[ when? ] traditional ruler of Oboama Ezinihitte Mbaise is Eze Juluis Amaefule.

Oboama is noted for its dance group called Abigbo. It has spread around the Mbaise District of Imo State in southeast Nigeria.

St. Mary's Cathedral in Okigwe is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Okigwe. In 2016, the Imo state government recommissioned a new cattle market in the city in respect to the previous one that has been relocated to Abia.

Okpofe is an autonomous community located in Ezinihitte Mbaise local government area (LGA), in Imo State, Nigeria with common boundaries with Itu, Ezeagbogu, Ihitte, Amumara and Oboama autonomous communities. Okpofe is the centre of the Ezinihitte Mbaise clan, and it is the only town in Ezinihitte Mbaise that does not share a boundary with another local government area in Imo State. It is quite a unique town in Ezinihitte. It is also on record that the Roman Catholic Church was first established in Okpofe town in the year 1918 when the first crop of missionaries brought to the town held the first Catholic mass at the shrine of Inyama Oguegbe Ajero, who himself was the Second Paramount King of the ancient town after Chief Mbagwu. Ezinihitte Mbaise The Anglican Juniorate in Mbaise is located in Okpofe too.

Ahiazu Mbaise is a Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria. It is as a result of a merger between Ahiara and Ekwerazu. Its headquarters are in the town of Afo oru. There are fourteen (14) towns that make up Ahiazu Mbaise. They include; Mpam, Ihitte Afor, Opara-Nadim, Akabor, Ogwuama/Amuzi, Obodo-Ujichi, Otulu/Aguneze, Umu-OKrika, Obohia, Ekwereazu, Obodo-Ahiara, Lude/Nnara-Mbia, Ogbe, Oru - Ahiara. Air Commodore (retired) Luke Chijiuba Ochulor served as the first Military Administrator of Delta State, Nigeria, appointed in August 1991 after the state was formed from part of Bendel State during the military regime of General Ibrahim Babangida. He handed over to the elected civilian governor Felix Ibru in January 1992 at the start of the Nigerian Third Republic.

Itu is a community in Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State. Most people refer to it as Itu Mbaise. This is because there is another town known as Itu in Cross River State. Itu is a town known for palm wine production business, palm oil and agricultural produce. Politically, It is the heart of Ezinihitte Local Government since it has the LGA headquarters situated in Itu. Itu is a town made up of 10 villages, and is sometimes called “Itu Ama iri”, because of the 10 villages that make up Itu.

Victor Osuagwu is a Nigerian actor who won the City People Movie Special Recognition Award at the City People Entertainment Awards and Is a former president of the Lagos State chapter of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.

The 2023 Nigerian presidential election in Imo State will be held on 25 February 2023 as part of the nationwide 2023 Nigerian presidential election to elect the president and vice president of Nigeria. Other federal elections, including elections to the House of Representatives and the Senate, will also be held on the same date while state elections will be held two weeks afterward on 11 March.
