The Piggott National Guard Armory is a historic former Arkansas National Guard facility at 775 East Main Street in Piggott, Arkansas. It is a large single-story concrete block structure, finished with a brick veneer, and topped by a gable roof with a clerestory section at the top. The building was erected in 1956, during a period when armory spaces were undergoing a shift in use and scope. The building was used as an armory until 2005, when it was given to the city by the state. [2]
The Arkansas National Guard comprises both the Arkansas Army National Guard and Arkansas Air National Guard. The state functions of the National Guard range from limited actions during non-emergency situations to full scale law enforcement of martial law when local law enforcement officials can no longer maintain civil control. The National Guard may be called into federal service by the President.
Piggott is a city in Clay County, Arkansas, United States, one of that county's two seats. It is the northern terminus of the Arkansas segment of the Crowley's Ridge Parkway, a National Scenic Byway. As of the 2010 census, Piggott's population was 3,849. The town was founded by William N. Barron and named after his sister.

The Armory was built for the Minnesota National Guard in 1935–36 and also used by the Minneapolis Lakers of the NBA from 1947-1960. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
The National Guard Armory is a historic National Guard Armory located at Columbia, Missouri. It was built about 1940, as a Works Progress Administration project. The rectangular, reinforced concrete, Art Deco building sits on the north side of downtown Columbia. Today the building is owned by the city and used as a youth recreation center.
The Lawrence Light Guard Armory is a historic armory building at 92 High Street in Medford, Massachusetts. The National Guard Armory is a history armory building at DeQueen and Maple Streets in Mena, Arkansas. It is a large single-story Art Deco building, fashioned out of fieldstone and concrete in 1931. It is the best example in Mena of a stone building style more typically found in the more mountainous surrounding areas. It was designed by Derwood F. Kyle of Pine Bluff, and was from the start designed to include community meeting spaces, a function the building continues to perform.

The historic courthouse is the fifth building to serve Washington County, with the prior buildings located near the Old Post Office on the Historic Square. The building is one of the prominent historic buildings that compose the Fayetteville skyline, in addition to Old Main.
The Deming Armory is a historic armory in the United States, located at 301 South Silver Avenue in Deming, Luna County, New Mexico. The building was built for the United States Department of the Army in 1915–16, and is currently being used as the premises for the local museum in Deming. The armory was added to the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties in 1978 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
The McGehee National Guard Armory is a historic armory building at 1610 South First Street in McGehee, Arkansas. The armory, built in 1954, is a single story cinder block building faced in brick veneer. The metal gable roof is supported by a steel frame, with clerestory awning windows on either side. The large central area is surrounded on three sides by single story flat-roofed sections housing offices, kitchen space, and other support areas. The design of the building is typical of those produced by the Arkansas National Guard at that time. The building was used by the National Guard until 2005, and was given to the city the following year.
Marianna City Hall is located in the former Marianna National Guard Armory at 45 West Mississippi Street in Marianna, Arkansas. It is a large two-story brick building, with restrained Art Deco styling. It was designed by Durward F. Kyle, and built in 1929 with funding from the city and the state's Military Department, to house the regimental headquarters of the 206th Coastal Artillery Regiment. Over the following decades it was home to a number of Arkansas National Guard units, which moved to new facilities in 1980. The building was adapted in 1987 for use as city hall, and as a senior center.
The Helena National Guard Armory is a historic armory building at 511 Miller Street in Helena, Arkansas. It is a single story brick and masonry structure, built in 1936-37 using Works Progress Administration funds to house the Battery G of the 206th Coastal Artillery. The building's main facade as strong Art Deco styling, with its predominantly brick facing topped by concrete courses, and a strong vertical emphasis achieved by two towers and four pilasters on a pointed-arch roofline. The building housed a variety of military companies between its opening and its closure in 1978.
The Piggott Commercial Historic District encompasses the original center of the city of Piggott, Arkansas, as originally platted out in 1887. It is centered on the square where the Clay County courthouse is located, buildings facing the courthouse square, and also buildings along some of the adjacent streets. In addition to the courthouse, the district includes the c. 1910 railroad depot, city hall, two churches, the 1930s Post Office building, a cotton gin, and a grain storage yard. The town grew because of the railroad, and the plentiful timber in the area, whose harvesting fueled the early economy in the region. The oldest building in the district is the 1897 Clay County Bank at 188 West Main Street.
The Piggott Post Office is located at 119 North 3rd Street in central Piggott, Arkansas. It is a single-story brick building, with a flat roof that has an encircling parapet, and a concrete foundation. Construction on the building took place mostly in 1937, but was not completed until 1941. The building is noted for its lobby murals, painted by Iowa native Dan Rhodes, with funding from the United States Treasury Department's Section of Fine Arts, a Depression-era jobs program for artists. The murals depict air mail postal service.
The former National Guard Armory of Batesville, Arkansas, is located at 380 South Ninth Street. Built in 1936, it is a large and imposing sandstone structure with Gothic Revival and Art Deco features. It was designed by Peter Blaauw, a Dutch architect from Sulphur Rock, and built with funding from the Works Progress Administration. After the National Guard vacated the facility in 1976, it was used for storage and sat vacant until about 1998, when it was adapted for use by the Old Independence Regional Museum.
The National Guard Armory-Pine Bluff is a former National Guard armory at 623 West 2nd Avenue in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. It is a two-story masonry structure, built out of concrete and buff brick with Art Deco styling, included a castellated parapet. It was built in 1931, and was the first state-owned militia building in Jefferson County. It served as a state armory until 1974, housing the 39th Tank Company, and now houses vocational classrooms.
The Villisca National Guard Armory is a historic building located in Villisca, Iowa, United States. Villisca had active military units as far back as 1877. Local citizens raised the funds to build the armory, which was completed in 1913. Company F participated in the following military actions: Mexican Expedition, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Gulf War. The building was used for a variety of community events in addition to activities for the Iowa National Guard. It was used as the gymnasium for the local high school until 1959. Ownership of the building was transferred from the Villisca Armory Corporation to the State of Iowa in 1973, and in 2000 it was transferred to the Villisca Community School District. During the 2000-2001 school year it was used for classroom space when the present high school building was under construction. Subsequently, the building has been used for storage and various athletic functions. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.
The Clarksville National Guard Armory is a historic former National Guard Armory at 309 College Street in Clarksville, Arkansas. It is a two-story building, finished in brick with restrained Art Deco styling. Its main facade is 10 bays wide, with a projecting section at the center housing two bays on the upper floor, and a double door entrance on the first. The entrance is set in a stepped recess, and it and the windows above are flanked by brick pilasters at the corner of the projection. The building was built in 1930, and served the Arkansas National Guard as a training and storage facility until 1980, after which ownership was turned over to the city.
The Hot Springs National Guard Armory is a historic military facility at 210 Woodbine Street in Hot Springs, Arkansas. It is a large structure, built out of hollow clay blocks set on a concrete foundation, and topped by a broad gabled roof supported by wooden bowstring trusses. The central gabled portion of the facade is articulated by buttress-like features with Art Deco detailing. The structure was built in 1937, and is one of five Art Deco armories in the state built with funding from the Works Progress Administration, a federal jobs program.
The Marshall Street Armory is a former armory for the Michigan National Guard. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.
The Saginaw Armory is a former National Guard installation located at 234 South Water Street in Saginaw, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
