Ashland is a town in Hanover County, Virginia, United States, located 16 miles (26 km) north of Richmond along Interstate 95 and U.S. Route 1. As of the 2020 census it had a population of 7,565, up from 7,225 at the 2010 census.

Indiana Ave, the church is in the heart of Chicago's Bronzeville neighborhood. In 2017, the church was sold to the National Museum of Gospel Music.

Leadenhall Street Baptist Church is a historic Baptist church located at Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is a gable-front rectangular brick temple with simple Renaissance Revival detail. The original exterior wall surfaces have been covered with formstone on the main façade and stucco elsewhere. It features round-arched stained glass windows on each side bay. It was built in 1873, by Joseph Thomas & Son for the city's African American Baptists who were then centered in the old southwest area from the downtown business district of Baltimore in the "Sharp-Leadenhall" community in the old "South Baltimore" area. Nearby is its now famed revitalized "Inner Harbor" area of the old "Basin" for the harbor port.

Shiloh Baptist Church is a historic Baptist church in King-Lincoln Bronzeville, Columbus, Ohio. One of the oldest black churches in the city, it has been active since the 1860s, and its 1920s building has been named a historic site.
Massaponax Baptist Church is a Baptist church built in the Greek Revival style, located in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. It is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. The Baptist congregation that built the church was established in 1788 at a small church near Massaponax Creek. When that building became too small to hold the growing congregation, the church was moved to its present location at the intersection of U.S. Route 1 and State Route 608. The new church was a small, frame building which was also outgrown. In 1859, the current brick building was constructed on the site. Kilns in a nearby field fired the bricks for the exterior walls. By October 1859 the new church was completed at a cost of $3,000. Joseph Billingsly was the first pastor in the new building. An addition was built in 1949 and a brick cottage for the pastor, was built near the church in 1956. The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in January 1991.
The Matthew Fontaine Maury School, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, is an historic school building noted for its Colonial Revival architecture and design as well as its significance in the entertainment and cultural life of Fredericksburg. The architect of the building was Philip Stern. Built in 1919-1920, the school was used from then until 1952 for both elementary and high-school students. After the construction of James Monroe High School, the building was used as an elementary- and middle-school. The school was closed in 1980. Maury School was added to the National Register of Historic Places in March 2007.
Walker–Grant School is a historic school in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The school was built in 1938 and was the first publicly supported black high school in Fredericksburg. The school was named for Joseph Walker and Jason Grant (1861–1951) who worked to establish the school. The Art Deco designed school was added to the National Register of Historic Places in October 1998.
The Cedar Hill Church and Cemeteries are located in historic Rockbridge County, Virginia. The small log church, which also served as a schoolhouse, was built in 1874 evoking the history of Rockbridge County's African American community. The land was given by a white farmer named John Replogle and transferred to" Trustees for the Colored Baptist Congregation" A cemetery was established behind the church, marked today by a scattering of field stone memorials. Because of the rocky ground, a new cemetery was laid out at a separate location around 1890 and is still in use. The Cedar Hill congregation was formed shortly after the Civil War. It consisted of African Americans that basically worked and lived on white-owned farms. The meetings were held in a log dwelling southwest of the present church. Later, the congregation met under a large oak tree that stood approximately one and a half miles west of the present church. Cedar Hill's oak tree meeting-place was similar to the brush arbor churches that many freedman congregations established in Virginia following the Civil war as temporary shelter. It is said that many members were buried near that oak tree that was called as the "Gospel Tree". The tree was destroyed by lightning around 1890, but the stump is still visible and a limb from it is kept at the present church as a historic memento.

It was founded in 1916 to provide African-American parishioners of the local St. Mary's Roman Catholic Parish with their own church, freed from the customary restrictions that segregation imposed on them.
Meade Memorial Episcopal Church is a predominantly Black Episcopal Church in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. Founded in 1870, the church today is supported by a congregation that includes descendants of the original founders of this parish. Meade Memorial belongs to the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia, whose members continue to serve the community and the Episcopal Church by participating in regional and Diocesan activities.
Shiloh Baptist Church is a predominantly Black Baptist Church at 1401 Duke Street in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. At the time of its dedication in 1893, the historic building had a great bell tower, eight stained glass windows, modern circular oak pews, and a large reflector with glass prisms. While this historic building continues to be used as a youth center, the church has expanded to a large new sanctuary across Duke Street.
