South Columbus Historic District is a historic district in Columbus, Mississippi that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. [1] Its 1980 nomination lists 525 structures and sites. [2]
According to the nomination:
The South Columbus Historic District is a cohesive, well-preserved neighborhood of archi- tecturally [sic] and historically significant buildings which visually illustrate the city's historical pattern of development since the early 1800s. It contains one of the greatest concentrations of nineteenth century residential structures in the state and exhibits a virtually complete record of American building styles from the 1820s throught [sic] the 1930s. Additionally, the district possesses significant examples of adaptions and combinations of architectural designs which are unique to Columbus; it contains the homes of several persons who played important roles in local, state, and national history; and it includes the site of Columbus' oldest industry, Columbus Marble Works (est. 1846). The district was increased in 2005 to add a c. 1900 Late Victorian L-shaped house at 1124 Main St., so that its renovation could benefit from a tax incentive. [3]

The Commercial Bank and Banker's House is an unusual combination building, housing both a bank premises and the principal banker's residence, at 206 Main Street and 107 Canal Street in Natchez, Mississippi. Built-in 1833, it is a remarkably high-quality and well-preserved example of Greek Revival architecture. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1974. The bank portion of the building, used for a time by a Christian Science congregation, is presently vacant, while the house portion is a private residence.
Charles McLaran House, also known as Riverview and as Burris House, is a historic mansion at 512 Second Street South in Columbus, Mississippi. Built in 1847 for a major local landowner, it is a distinctive and particularly grand and well-preserved example of Greek Revival architecture. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 2001.
Stanton Hall, also known as Belfast, is an Antebellum Classical Revival mansion at 401 High Street in Natchez, Mississippi. Built in the 1850s, it is one of the most opulent antebellum mansions to survive in the southeastern United States. It is now operated as a historic house museum by the Pilgrimage Garden Club. The house was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1974 and a Mississippi Landmark in 1995.
Natchez On-Top-of-the-Hill Historic District is a historic district in Natchez, Mississippi that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
The Octagon House, also known as May's Folly, is a historic octagon house at 527 1st Avenue in Columbus, Georgia. Built about 1830 and enlarged in 1863, it is claimed by the local historical society to be the nation's only known example of a double-octagon house. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1973.
The Small House in Macon, Georgia, also known as Ralph Small House,Napier-Small House, or McMullan-Napier-Small House, is a "distinguished" example of high-style Greek Revival architecture that was built in 1846 by Skelton Napier.
Dinglewood is a neighborhood/subdistrict located at the southern edge of Midtown Columbus, Georgia. In it is the tallest building in Columbus, the Aflac Tower. It is also home to the famous Dinglewood Pharmacy, which serves, in the opinions of the city's residents, the city's best scrambled hot dog. The boundaries of the neighborhood are generally acknowledged to be 17th Street to the north, Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to the south, Interstate 185 to the east and Veterans Parkway to the west. In 2007, the estimated population of the area was 1,101.

The Old Homestead in Aberdeen, Mississippi was built in c.1852. It has also been known as Dr. George Augustus Sykes House and Julian T. Evans House. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. The listing includes 2 contributing buildings.
The Mount Carmel Congregational Church and Parish House is a historic church complex at 3280 and 3284 Whitney Avenue and 195 Sherman Avenue in Hamden, Connecticut. It consists of an 1840 Greek Revival church with a tetrastyle temple front portico, a 1911 Colonial Revival parish house, and a 1925 sexton's house. The church is considered to be Hamden's finest example of Greek Revival architecture, and the parish house one of its finest Colonial Revival houses. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
Shoreham Congregational Church is a historic church on School Street in Shoreham, Vermont. Built in 1846 by a local master builder, it is one of the state's finest examples of ecclesiastical Greek Revival architecture, and also housed local town meetings for more than a century. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.
Clifton is a historic building located in the West End of Davenport, Iowa, United States. The residence was individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It was included as a contributing property in the Riverview Terrace Historic District in 1983.

Belmont, also known as the Ficklin Mansion, is a historic home located at Charlottesville, Virginia. It was built about 1820 for John Winn by Jefferson brick mason John Jordan. Originally it had a center pavilion with lower symmetrical side wings but a second story was added to the wings by John Winn's son Benjamin Bannister Winn about 1840. It is a brick dwelling showing both Greek Revival and Federal details as it was built during the transition between the two styles. It features pedimented portico supported by four square paneled columns resting on a raised brick base.

The Bills-McNeal Historic District is a 30 acres (12 ha) historic district in Bolivar, Tennessee which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It then included nine contributing buildings and one contributing site, on portions of Lafayette, McNeal, Bills, Union, Lauderdale and Washington Streets.
