Syed Naseer Hussain is an Indian politician of Indian National Congress and a Member of the upper house of the Indian Parliament,the Rajya Sabha,from the state of Karnataka. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] He served as National Media Panelist (AICC) for the past three years. [8] [9] [10] He also served as National Secretary and Chief Election Authority of Indian Youth Congress. [3] He also served as the Chairman of various committees;Vice-Chairman,two labour boards and Chairman,two sub- committees,Government of India. He is from Bellary. [16] Currently,Hussain serves on the Congress Working Committee as a full time Member and is responsible for managing the office of the Indian National Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. [17]
Naseer Hussain was born to Syed Hafeez and Akhtar Unnisa on 10 June 1970. [18] [14]

Syed Nasir Hussain married Mehnaz Ansari on 6 October 2003. The couple has two sons. [18] [14] [20]
On 23 March 2018,he got elected to the Rajya Sabha by getting 42 first-preference votes out of 185. On 11 August 2021,The Congress party appointed MP Syed Naseer Hussain as a whip of the Parliamentary party in Rajya Sabha. [21] [22] On 15 November 2022,Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge appointed Syed Naseer Hussain and three other MPs as the coordinators of AICC attached with their office.
He was re-elected to Rajya Sabha on 28 February 2024.

Syed Naseer Hussain performed the last rites of Prof Savitri Vishwanathan who died of COVID-19. Prof Savitri Vishwanathan former head of the Chinese and Japanese Studies Department at Delhi University,was a family friend of Hussain's. [23] [24]

Kollur Mallappa,also referred to as Malappa Lingappa Kollur was the first President of Hyderabad Pradesh Congress Committee,prior to the merger of Hyderabad state into Andhra Pradesh. 2020 Rajya Sabha elections were the set of indirect elections by the members of State legislatures of India,to elect new members to fill vacancies in the Rajya Sabha –the upper house of the Parliament of India. The elections are held annually and throughout the year on an ad hoc basis. The elections in 2020 are for a total of 73 seats of which 55 of them were to be elected by March 26.
