TV Oranje (English: TV Orange) is a Dutch music television channel aimed at the Dutch market which launched on 5 October 2005. The programming consists mainly of music videos and music programs in the Dutch language. The main music genres are Nederpop and Levenslied. The channel was founded by Jur Bron and Gerard Ardesch and officially owned by their company TV Digitaal BV. [1] [2] Since 12 May 2016 it is part of MuziekKiosk. [3]

The Dutch public broadcasting system is a group of organizations that are responsible for public service television and radio broadcasting in the Netherlands. It is composed of the Nederlandse Publieke Omroep (NPO) foundation, which acts as its governing body, and a number of public broadcasters. The Dutch Media Act 2008 regulates how air time is divided and puts the administration of the public broadcasting system in the hands of the NPO Board of Directors.

Television in the Netherlands was officially introduced in 1951. In the Netherlands, the television market is divided between a number of commercial networks, such as RTL Nederland, and a system of public broadcasters sharing three channels, NPO 1, NPO 2, and NPO 3. Imported programmes, as well as news interviews with responses in a foreign language, are almost always shown in their original language, with subtitles.

Radio 538 Dutch radio station

Radio 538 is a Dutch commercial radio station active since 1992 and based in Hilversum. It is the second most-listened-to radio station in the Netherlands. Radio 538 refers to the wavelength that Radio Veronica was broadcast on in the seventies. This station was intended for the younger generation and is owned by Talpa Network. It plays a hybrid of current dance, R'n'B, pop and rock hits, mainly based upon the Dutch Top 40 chart. The station neither focuses on a CHR/Top-40 format, nor a more Dance-intensive approach. The breakfast and drivetime shows are more talk-intensive than others. Traditionally, the station was only obtained through cable, however in 1998 the station upgraded to a different frequency package, allowing for different frequencies by region. Radio 538 started the hip-hop and contemporary R&B program Juize, which developed into the radio station Juize.FM on 18 July 2004. Later, in 2011, Radio 538 created a sister station called TV 538.

Jan Smit (singer) Musical artist

Jan Smit is a Dutch singer, television host, and actor. Smit mostly sings songs in the Dutch language, in a genre known as Volendam music. In addition to his solo career, in 2015 Smit joined the schlager trio KLUBBB3, and in 2017 The Toppers. As a TV presenter, he has worked on programs like the Beste Zangers and Sterren Muziekfeest op het Plein Since 1999, Smit has been serving as an ambassador for the SOS Children's Villages, and is a member of the board for the football club FC Volendam.

Patty Brard Musical artist

Patty Brard is a Dutch entertainer of Indo (Dutch-Indonesian) descent. She is a TV personality and a singer notable as a former member of the girl group Luv'. For four decades, she has often hit the headlines of the tabloid press.

Nederland 24 was the collective name for a number of specialty television channels from the Dutch public broadcasting system. It also broadcasts a sample channel of the same name featuring a mix of programming from the other thematic channels. A couple of these specialty channel are still available, but are now fully under the wings of the NPO.

Nickelodeon is a Belgian television channel that is derived from the Dutch Nickelodeon. The channel started in the summer of 2009 when it got its own programming. Via the satellite, the Dutch version is still being broadcast.

MTV (Dutch TV channel)

MTV Nederland and België is a Dutch speaking free-to-air television channel broadcasting in the Netherlands. It launched as MTV NL on 12 September 2000. Before the start of country-specific channels, the Pan-European version of MTV aired in the Netherlands.

Stingray Group Inc. is a publicly traded Canadian media and entertainment company based in Montreal, Quebec, with offices in the United States, Belgium, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Israel, Australia and South Korea. The company broadcasts music and video content on platforms including cable and satellite television, IPTV, Internet, mobile devices and game consoles, and develops customized audio and digital services for retailers, hotels and other commercial clients.

Stingray Brava

Stingray Brava was a cultural television channel originated in the Netherlands, owned by the Stingray Group in Canada. The programming consisted of opera, ballet, and concertos. Productions were recorded in opera houses such as the Royal Opera House, the Teatro Real, and La Scala. The productions consisted of stage performances such as La bohème, Otello, Aida, Swan Lake, Tosca, Zoroastre and Così fan tutte.

SchlagerTV

SchlagerTV is a Schlager music television channel aimed at the European and North-American markets which launched in January, 2009. The programming consists mainly of music videos and music programs in the German language. The main music genre is the popular Schlager music genre from Germany and Austria. The channel is founded by Jur Bron and Gerard Ardesch and officially owned by their company TV Digitaal BV. In December 2011, the Brava TV Group announced that Strengholt BV became co-owner of SchlagerTV, though sister channel TV Oranje remains solely owned by TV Digitaal BV. Since 12 May 2016 it is part of MuziekKiosk.

Xite Interactive music video platform

XITE is an interactive music video platform. Founded in the Netherlands with linear networks, interactive TV, and on-demand streaming services, XITE is now live in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland. In the United States, it is available on the Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Roku streaming players as well as Comcast Xfinity and some Samsung TVs.

Stingray Djazz Dutch cultural television channel

Stingray DJAZZ is a Dutch cultural music channel aimed at the European market which launched as DJAZZ.TV on 22 June 2012. The programming consists of jazz, soul, gospel, blues and world music, like reggae, tango and Brazilian music. The productions consist of jazz festivals, jazz concerts and documentaries. The channel was founded by Rob Overman and Robert Rutten. Since 31 July 2015 the channel is owned and operated by the Canadian company Stingray Group. In October 2016 it changed its name into Stingray DJAZZ.

Ziggo Dutch cable operator

Ziggo Holding B.V. is the largest cable operator in the Netherlands, providing digital cable television, Internet, and telephone service to both residential and commercial customers.

Stingray Classica is a television channel devoted to classical music, opera, ballet and jazz, currently owned by Stingray Group in Canada.

Cécile Dreesmann

Cécile Dreesmann was a Dutch textile artist known for her innovative embroidery. She was particularly fond of working with silk, adding precious or semi-precious stones to the work of thread, creating volumes, like thread sculpture. She always defended embroidery as a form of personal art, in which everyone has to find their own way. She also published a number of books on textile art. She was a member of the wealthy Dutch Dreesmann family, connected to the Vroom & Dreesmann department stores.

Fox Life is an international pay television network, launched by the Fox Networks Group in 2003, which aired across Southeast Asia. The network's scheduling varied with each version, ranging from traditional entertainment programming, including television series, sitcoms and movies, among others, original programming in certain regions, and instructional and aspirational reality television on some other variations; in North America for instance, the network carried mainly Spanish language dubbed versions of American reality shows.
