NH Media, officially Stichting RTV NH ('Radio Television North Holland'), is the regional public broadcaster for the Dutch province of North Holland. Its headquarters are located in Hilversum.

NH was founded on 1 January 1989 as Radio Noord-Holland. [1] Since 3 January 2000, NH also broadcasts on television. [2] NH's news division, NH Nieuws, co-operates with local broadcasters, including AT5 (Amsterdam) and WEEFF (West-Friesland). [3] [4]

Purmerend is a city and municipality in the west of the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. The city is surrounded by polders, such as the Purmer, Beemster and the Wormer. The city became the trade center of the region but the population grew relatively slowly. Only after 1960 did the population start to grow from around 10,000 to around 80,000 by the 2010s. From the 1960s onwards, Purmerend has seen major expansion and continues to do so. This expansion has turned Purmerend into a commuter town; many inhabitants of Purmerend work, go to school or spend their leisure time in Amsterdam. Purmerend is part of the Randstad, one of the largest conurbations in Europe.

The Dutch public broadcasting system is a group of organizations that are responsible for public service television and radio broadcasting in the Netherlands. It is composed of the Nederlandse Publieke Omroep (NPO) foundation, which acts as its governing body, and a number of public broadcasters. The Dutch Media Act 2008 regulates how air time is divided and puts the administration of the public broadcasting system in the hands of the NPO Board of Directors.

Television in the Netherlands was officially introduced in 1951. In the Netherlands, the television market is divided between a number of commercial networks, such as RTL Nederland, and a system of public broadcasters sharing three channels, NPO 1, NPO 2, and NPO 3. Imported programmes, as well as news interviews with responses in a foreign language, are almost always shown in their original language, with subtitles.

Football Club Groningen is a Dutch professional association football club based in the city of Groningen, province of Groningen. Founded on 16 June 1971 as the successor of GVAV, the team will compete in the Eerste Divisie, the second tier of Dutch football, following relegation from the 2022–23 Eredivisie. Groningen played their inaugural season in the Eredivisie, before the side were relegated to the Eerste Divisie in 1973–74 as they got into financial difficulties. Groningen were promoted back to the Eredivisie as champions in 1979–80 and remained in the top flight for almost 20 seasons before they dropped to the second tier in 1997–98. Hilversum Media Park, previously called Hilversum NOS (1974–1989) and Hilversum Noord (1989–2013), is a railway station in the city of Hilversum, Netherlands. Opened on 25 September 1974, Hilversum Media Park is located on kilometre 27 of the Amsterdam–Zutphen railway, partly called the Gooilijn because of the region it runs through. The station is situated north of the city centre, serving the Media Park, where most Dutch television and radio broadcasters are located. The station has two platforms, which are connected through a covered footbridge. Before 1989, the station was named after the public broadcaster Nederlandse Omroep Stichting, more commonly referred to as NOS.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Regio Songfestival</span>

The Regio Songfestival is a song competition held among regional public broadcasters in the Netherlands. Held for the first time in 1995 under its original title Het Nederlandse Songfestival, the contest's format is loosely based on the Eurovision Song Contest, with slightly different rules aimed at promoting local music. The competition is set to return in a reworked format in 2023, hosted by RTV Utrecht.
