AMC is a European TV channel launched by AMC Networks International. AMC replaced the MGM Channel in Portugal and Spain on 4 November 2014, and in Poland on 6 May 2016. [1] AMC-produced dramas Halt & Catch Fire and The Divide are among the first original series that premiered on the channel. The channel also airs films from MGM, Universal Studios, Paramount Pictures, Walt Disney Pictures, 20th Century Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment. [2] The channel launched in the United Kingdom on 28 August 2015, in partnership with BT TV and branded AMC from BT. [3] Until 2019, Sky customers in the UK had access to the channel if they subscribed to BT Sport, but was subsequently removed from the platform on 2 October 2019, making the channel exclusive to BT TV subscribers.

The channel launched in the Republic of Ireland in February 2023 on Virgin Media Ireland.

AMC closed in the Netherlands and Flanders on 31 December 2018 and in Russia on 1 January 2019, where it was replaced by Hollywood channel. [4] [5]

On 17 August 2023, it was announced that the AMC UK channel and all on-demand content would be removed from BT TV on 28 September 2023, ending AMC's presence in the UK. [6]

MGM Channel, sometimes called just MGM and in Spain Canal MGM, was a European 24-hour film channel that was launched by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios in Germany in 2001, later followed by other European countries. The programming of the channel mainly consisted of movies from MGM's library comprising approximately 4,000 titles, including West Side Story, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Madhouse, The Manchurian Candidate, 12 Angry Men, amongst many others. The main language was in English and the films were locally subtitled or dubbed. Some cable operators did offer MGM video on demand.

TNT Sports is a group of pay television sports channels in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Owned by Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe and BT Group, they first launched on 1 August 2013. The channels are based at Warner Bros. Discovery's complex in Chiswick Business Park, London, having been based at Here East, the former International Broadcast Centre in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London until July 2023. The channels are available on the EE TV, Sky and Virgin Media television platforms in the UK and Sky and Vodafone TV in the Republic of Ireland.

SonyLIV is an Indian subscription video-on-demand over-the-top streaming service owned by Culver Max Entertainment. SonyLIV was introduced in 2013 as the first OTT service in India. As a streaming service, it provides live sports, original titles, other content titles from its own networks and content titles in India licensed from third-parties such as Lionsgate and ITV among others. Discovery took a 20% minority interest share in December 2012, and became majority shareholder in the Eurosport venture with TF1 in January 2014, taking a 51% share of the company, On 22 July 2015 Discovery agreed to acquire TF1's remaining 49% stake in the venture.
